Due to a number of factors (time of year, the economy, etc), my wash-in wasn't as much of a wash-in as I was hoping for, BUT it was still a really good party! Of the 35 or so people in attendance, only 10 of them were "washer people", the others were good friends or other friends I was "coming out of the appliance closet" to (haha).

Since we are near Christmas, I decided my "gift" would be to cook dinner for everyone! So with two friends helping me, we made 4 trays of regular lasagna, 2 smaller trays of veggie lasagna, garlic bread & salad. My friend Tina made some incredible ginger cookies and lemon bars for dessert and everything turned out great!

Because I was so busy in the kitchen prepping, cooking and serving, I did not have a lot of time to visit, party or take many photos... but I did get a few.

So..... welcome to my home for the Holiday party / wash-in!

Kenmore 800

Wow! My parents had a Kenmore 800 and matching dryer (in avocado)until they traded them in for Maytags in 1987. The Maytags are still going strong.

I remember seeing a working display of this washer with my parents in the Sears store in Kokomo, Indiana. I was absolutely enthralled with the soap dispenser. It was the coolest thing. It was even cooler when it was delivered to our house and I could watch it in action in the comfort of my own home!

Great pics! Great memories.

Now Lets See...

Why do I have all these extra screws in my pocket!? I'm glad I could make the Hoover sing once again. For some reason that brings me great joy :) I had a great time and I was glad I could help out with the machines, it was a nice change of pace to get my hands into some Frigidaires, Westy's and WP machines. A wonderful host, a room full of washers and voila! It was great and I don't regret coming out at all!

Any party's a good party--very lovely, indeed.

I see an old friend there, GE Mike...HI MIKE!

You sure have a lot of ideal machines procured in a short time. The 55 Uni looks enticing next to the new KM. And that giant pink combo--HO HO HO, says Santa. What did your non-washer friends say about your coming out as a washer guy?

Well, wash-in or eat-in, it looks like a fun time was had by all.

I love that coppertone Kenmore, especially the agitator!

Very sorry I missed attending.

Ralph
