Hi Guys,

I have just recieved delivery of a new machine, a Beko WMB81641LC Brushless, 1600rpm 8KG washer. I bought it after the Electrolux decided it wanted to fry its control board, probably not helped by the fact that we never turn it off on the machine and leave it permanently in a state of standby. After both me and partner went away for a few weeks on separate excursions, I came home first to discover no power on at the house. Through process of elimination I found the washer to be the culprit.
The machine tripped the power off constantly every time it was turned on until suddenly there was a small plume of smoke coming out of the control buttons. After that, nothing. My appliance repair friend said the complicated electrics involved with the screen on the Electrolux had just given up after being constantly warmed up for so long. A small power surge while we were away could have knocked out the power and tipped the controls over the edge.

So I found a replacement. ANd that came in the shape of the Beko which I purchased for $698 from Appliances Online, a wonderful site that has fantastic customer service. At half the price of the Electrolux when it was new, I did have my reservations but the look of the machine is great and with an 8kg capacity and 1600spin I figured i didn't have much to lose.

Turns out the machine is amazing! Washes quietly, has two recirculation spray jets, has a very effective Daily/Quick cycle with rinses in deep water and at distribution speed and a pet hair removal option.

The noise it makes when it spins is very pleasing to the ear and even at full 1600 its very quiet.

Check out the pics and I am uploading a few videos throughout today to share also :-)

Heres the machine in all its glory...

It has a good range of cycles, I like having a few options when it comes to cycles. So far i've used the Daily/Quick the most as it is very effective and can be used at any temperature including 90 degrees :-)

The screen is simple and neat looking. A bit hard to see sometimes if the sun is coming through my laundry door window directly onto it but nothing that pulling the vertical blinds across can't fix. ...

Happy washing with your new machine.
I like Beko appliances. They are good for the price you pay.
Here they come with a 5 years warranty.
How many years of warranty they have down under? :)

Congratulations Matt!  My mum has the 1200rpm version of this washer which I got for her off eBay for £90, and it is one of the best washing machines out there at the moment.  Reasonable quality for a decent price.  When I asked mum the other day if she wanted her Miele putting back in she protested saying that she loves how she can get a lot of washing done quickly in the Beko!

The Daily Quick cycle is really thorough, very similar to the 40 degree non fast coloureds washes on old Hoovers/Hotpoints, 3 deep rinses with spins in between and a quick but fast spin at the end.

Thanks guys and thanks louis for embedding the vids for me :-)

The rinse is very effective is you dose your detergent sensibly. Im using Ariel Mountain Spring at the moment from a Serbian shop I visit. I use quarter of a cup on Daily Quick loads that are not soiled just worn. If there is a random food stain it gets a blast of Preen (Vanish) before going into wash. Everything comes out fresh and clean and well rinsed. I have on one occasion used 1/2 cup of Ariel in a load and it didn't rinse out all that well but still not too bad either.
The machine can be slightly iffy about balancing and if it doesn't get the balance right after about 4/5 attempts it abandons the spin and just fills for the next rinse. This may have affected the rinse performance on that load as it abandoned the spin before the softener rinse.

All in all im very happy with it, going to branch out next week and see how some other cycles go but I think Daily Quick is the one I will fall back on :-)

Thanks again!
