Well here it is, January 10, 2009. One year ago on this day, I stumbled upon this site, and had the most shocking revalation of my whole life, OTHER PEOPLE LIKE WASHING MACHINES! Since then, I have amassed a fair amount of vintage machines (and there will be more in '09, I can promise that), but more importantly, I've met a really cool group of people. I love you guys, and Robert, thank you so much for this site!

Goodness I think it was in 1998 that I joined Jeff Lefever's first Yahoo group (before he started the Yahoo club). As he later told me I was the first one to join that group after he started it. Makes me kind of a senior citizen in this community. LOL!

This is a fun place. And everyone here is great. I can remember my first time stumbling into AWO. I was up for hours that night checking out the virtual museum, the see-it-wash section and the photo galleries of member collections. I thought the washers we grew up with were relegated to the confines of our memories. Imagine my surprise and excitement to learn that many were around and functional and that it was still possible to find them.
To our webmaster Robert, all I can say is thank you for this site. And to all the members I say thanks for the many times you share your collections, tips and knowledge with the rest of us.

I was surprised to see it's actually been two years! I signed up 3 days + a year before Jed (Tuthill) and I can echo his comments almost exactly!

Very recently I have also built a small collection of machines, not as vintage as I might like, but a washing machine is a washing machine and I am still just as EXCITED about having them!!
