So i've had my TR5 for a couple of months now, and i must say, i am liking it alot, i even washed a thick queen sized comforter (used for my dog) and id did a great job, turned it over a couple of times, i honestly was surprised. It does a pretty good job on whites, here is a link to a video i took of a load of towels using auto fill, the load was even up to the plastic balance ring, and it still moved heavy beach towels around pretty well, uses plenty of water, as you can see in the video. After seeing eugenes video of the new maytag i think the speed queen is much better.

I have a 2015 model, 432, your washer looks a lot more gentle on clothing, mine can be rough on the clothes if I'm not careful, esp a large load. What detergent are you using? Do you use the presoak a lot? I've been soaking my clothes then run a short wash with pretty good results. I'm using different detergents, trying to get away from using chlorine bleach due to septic system and my Dad having a chemical reaction to it.
I'm still kind of on the fence about my washer, due to clothing damage.

It's pretty gentle on clothes, i used one tide pod for that load of towels, tide pod with "oxi" power, i tried powder oxi clean "white revive" and it works pretty good, alot better than bleach.

Eugene, the front loaders come back in january i believe, what my dealer told me when i bought the TR5, he said the government bought all of the quoda for the year for navy etc, so speed queen squit selling residential since they met their sales numbers. But he said it is NOT discontinued but just taking a short break.

The SQ appears BUILT better than the Maytag. But for quick and thorough washing, you cannot deny the Maytag. The 'Tag is the only machine I'd consider today.

Currently our '12 AWN542 is a champ in fast, thorough washing. I'm glad it also does a good impression of woo-woo sounds on normal wash. Both characteristics noticeably absent on the new SQ.

I am happy that your SQ pleases you and that it continues to do same.

Wash in peace,Bill

Washing queen size comforter

Here is a video of washing a queen size thick comforter using auto fill, it did turn over a couple times, did pretty good.

Queen Size Comforter In A New SQ TL Washer

Thats just pathetic, although most TL washers would have a hard time turning it over.

Try a light colored QSC and make it evenly dirty on one or better yet both sides and then wash it and show us the results, we have done this test with soiled white towels and work jeans and the results are treble, it only cleans a few areas leaving 60-80% advisably dirty.

Considering a whirlpool cabrio won't even turn a comforter over ONCE, let alone several times like my TR5 did this machine is still better than most he TL machines.
