Need some pointers on a broken ge dishwasher

I serviced a ge "quiet power" gld5600 series dishwasher about 3 days ago. The initial customer complaint was that it would run.... Forever. He did not specify whether it would complete the cycle before it restarted, so I had to dig around a bit.

I verified the heaters were getting power, and the heater had continuity. He said the dishwasher seemed to work fine other than the not stopping part. I assumed it was the board, which I ordered. Part # WD21X10247. It was the machine controller, and touchpad assembly. Parts company had more than 5 in stock which led me to believe that this is a common failure.

Parts installed yesterday, fast forward to today, he calls and says the dishwasher seemed to have worked once, but he can not get it to restart. I asked him to flip the breaker for ten minutes, and see if that helps, also to push a bit on the door to see if the latch may not have caught all the way. Still nothing. He gets a couple of led lights, but the unit won't start.

Do any of you guys have any experience in the Matter? I'm going back on Monday to check it again, but would like to get educated about it so I can try and get it right the second time around.

Update

It ended up being a loose power connection. I could not even get the thing to turn on, so I started checking for power. I got 37v at the board. I tightened up the wiring nuts, and bam. Back in business.

The irony is that I did not even touch the power there, the customer had the unit hooked through a gfi.

If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

I was going to suggest that it could be a power connection, but being entirely unfamiliar with this type of dishwasher, I thought I'd be about as helpful as owners manual troubleshooting advice that advises to check if the appliance is plugged in.

 

I'm glad it was an easy fix, and that you went after it again and met with success.

I hate dishwashers.

The crazy thing is that the unit never showed any signs of power loss. The boards where bad, plain and simple. I installed them, it ran a complete cycle, THEN decided enough was enough.

It seems like I am always getting a call back on dishwashers, and it is always a completely different issue.
