Whoops, 22 years off. I thought it was mandated sometime around 2011 or 2012 since there were still quite a few dryers that were sold new with only timed drying cycles in the 90’s and 2000’s.

With that said, we are going to have to agree to disagree.

If I had the choice I would buy a timed dry only dryer today. Something like this, but with the 80s setup above:

For "acquiring" a washer dryer pair?

Maybe the washer was held by the FBI as evidence.

 

Maybe it was a money laundering operation.
