Hello all
Have been looking at this site for many months now buut never bothered to sign up so today is the day.
I am having a bad spell with appliances at the moment and have just bought a new washer and dryer. Replaced an indesit washingmachine it was useless. Bought one of the new bosch models very good but after seeing the hotpoint aqualtis videos am wondering whether I made the right choice. The machine is very quiet but boring. New dryer is one of the new condenser bosch dryers with the glass window I like to see whats going got rid of a hotpoint it was a joke noisy and inefficent.

Welcome

Yes, I know what you mean about the Bosch, I have had exactly the same experience. Seem to work basically well but are somehow boring. It's seems there are quite a few interesting machines out there, with some great gadgets.

Hi Cbosch,

And welcome. This is a great place to be - so many interesting machines and ideas.
I taught English at B/S/H for several years here in Germany. One of the corporate goals for Bosch was: no surprises. They left the excitement to other brands in their house; Bosch customers wanted their appliances to work...full-stop.
If I find it, I'll post a link to two sound files - one, my Bosch Küchenmaschine starting up on a one-kilo load of dough to be kneaded, one of my Moulinex doing the same.
Both did an equally good job, but the Moulinex looked and sounded like it had been designed by the folks who brought us Mr. Gadget in glorious technicolor and with dolby surround.
The Bosch just silently ramped up and kneaded. Quietly.

Hey Keven, I thought I was the only one here with a Bosch Kuchenmaschine, it's my favorite kitchen appliance, and I have hundreds LOL. Can't say it too loud in here but it'll knead the pants off a KA mixer.

Many thanks and machine outlines

Many thanks for your kind words of welcome. I have a digital camera and intend to mae some videos of the various applinces I use but for just now I give my thoughs on some of them.
My grandparents have a hotpoint washer dryer. only 1 year old is actually not a bad machine in a way. Very good water levels in the rinse and reasonable washtimes. Particularly the hour 6o degree cycle. Dryng is not bad although creasing is not good t still dries a fullish drum of heavey towles in 90 minutes not too bad considering.
My other gran has an electrolux eco washer. Disaster of a machine. Very short cycles and washes in short spin bursts never tumbles. Ballancing serious issue.
At my parents house we have a bosch which is a good machine. 2 years old and is a work horse I can do 6 loads in a day easily during the summer when stripping beds and the machine takes it no problem. The machine has an LCD display and is good at sensingthe quantity of soap and roviding extra rinses. However there are three main problems with this machine. Firstly water levels are abismal even on the wool cycle the water level is a joke. It has the express wash syste but seems to jump down to 5 minutes whasing no matter how much laundry is in the drum. As a result I always run it on wash plus and the button stys on all the time. The third problem is its rinsing ability. If no suds lock present then gerenally only does one very low water level rinse and leaves half the suds in rinse plusonly works if there is suds lock and the machine automatically cuts out the added rinse if it feels it isn't necessarry.
at home we have a bosch dryer that is great. Dries 6kg of towles in under an hour. Ony snag is it has a plastic door nothing to see in with.
In my own flat I ma getting used ot my new bosch. Aquaplus does raise the water level slightly and is not bad but the wool programme is still awful.Express wash system seems t be fixed on this machine andd does not reduce the cycle in the smae way.
Looking forward to my new dryer coming with the glass door to see in with.
Post pictures soon
