First up the detergent dispenser.

Not much diffrent to the models before. It still has the pre-wash section that's not used for anything, I thought Indesit might have done something about that. A new liquid detergent insert has been added, i wonder if it flushes all the liquid out or it leaves most of it behind. The thickness of the plastic on the dispenser front seems alot thinner than on the models before.

....well, what if the user wanted to do a prewash? It would be pretty rubbish if it didn't have one at all!

Pre-wash

Neither Indesit or Hotpoint machines have a cycle with pre-wash, since last range of hotpoints ;)

If user wanted a pre-wash, well, then he could play with his machine a little, and then do a regular wash! xD

That's true, the user would have to carry out rinse and spin or fast wash etc if they wanted pre washing. However, quite a lot of family and friends have bought WMF or WMD hotpoints, being Aquarius+ or ULTIMA and that compartment is only used when filling for the first few seconds so detergent isn't wasted.

However they all seem pleased with their machines, and none of them use pre wash, if needs be for a an intense wash you have a higher temperature option and the option button super wash.

Only thing I hate is the drum size on Aquarius and Aquarius+ being the same, other than that I quite like the Hotpoint range :)

Programmes,

The new models still have the 60 minute fastwash programme @ 60deg but if you reduce the temp to 30deg it will complete the wash in around 30 minutes with a top spin speed. A new Baby programme has been added & according to Indesit it is ideal for terry nappies but at a temperature of 40deg yes 40deg i wonder how white they end up coming out & spun at 1000rpm. Another annoying thing is that they still have those pointless cold wash eco cycles. A new auto clean programme has been added.

Under the lid.

The only difference i can see is the pressure switch apart from that there's not really that much in there.

Full frontal shot.

The machine is flat fronted it's my camera thats at fault. The door handle is alot stronger than i thought a vast improvement. It still has the zero delay, forgotten item door lock which is such a good selling point. All in all not a bad range of machines apart from some of the silly programmes.

I'm beginning to like this new Hotpoint range quite a lot, the smartest they've had so far. Nice to see the extra rinse button making a welcome return too!

A slight shame about the pre-wash, could easily have been an addition to the Intensive/Normal/Delicate button, but nothing to negate most people from buying these machines.

Jon,

They do look much more stylish now. The flat front design reminds me of the classic brown fronted 95 series machines. If only we could have the mechanical timer controled machines back. They were far more exciting rather than the fully electronic ones of today.
