Strange

The German model seems to have a bigger display. But therefore it doesn't feature the 40dB... Is it a 6 to 7 litres water consumption model, too?

The US model is also cheaper

1.200,- USD are just 920,- Euros, the recommended price for the German "Eco2" is 1.279,- Euros...

The US models don't have the heat-exchanger, Zeolite or the water storage tank - AFAIK. Only Thermador has the water storage system.

Hmmm....

Does anyone have any clue about how durable these machines will be? Has anyone had the chance to look them over in person? My boyfriend's mom wants a new dishwasher and it's between one of these new Bosch dishwashers and a Miele dishwasher.

It appears the manuals are not yet available for download. Does anyone know what the "Extra Shine" option does? Is it the same as extra dry, which they mention in the specs?

I was able to find a link to the manual.

ExtraShine™: Used in combination with a wash cycle (except Rinse),
the Extra Shine option raises the temperature and extends the drying
time to further enhance drying results and provide a brilliant shine.

According to the manual Sears has for download, the option adds more heat to the final rinse and extends the drying cycle - so it's like Extra Dry. In Europe, the option adds more water to the interim rinse and probably also lengthens drying.

Just installed this one with my kitchen remodel...

So far, excellent cleaning results. Squeaky clean, actually. It really is virtually silent - the only indication that it's operating is the red light that shines on the floor.
