While I love my new Constellation, there is a fly in the ointment.

I have some vintage rugs that are deep pile - sort of like shag rugs but most definitely NOT shag rugs - and when I use the turbo beater thing-y, the suction is too strong, even with the little suction control all the way open.

When I use the floor attachment, it's just too kludgey, and the little brushes get stuck in the pile.

What would be perfect is the floor/rug attachment from the Celeberity, with a lever that pushes the little brush thing out of the way, or the non power-nozzle attachment from a vintage Electrolux but - of course - none of the vintage attachments fit the new Hoover stuff.

Contacting HooWhirlTag is absolutely pointless, as they have no idea what the constellation is.

Any of you Hoover guys know if there is a plain old non-turbo rug attachment that works on the new Constellations.

They make....

...or at least used to make a Hoover adapter for standard vacuum attachments (I used to have one). You could try a local vacuum shop...they would probably know. That way, you could use any of standard 1 1/4" attachment you pleased.

hoover adapter

i do not believe the *new* Constellation uses the classic Hoover tools with the button for locking. are you saying Dan that standard 1 1/4 inch tools (like Lux) dont fit? if it doesnt use the classic Hoover tools and doesnt use 1 1/4, it must use euro size. paging the Hoover Gurus!

I'm still trying to choose between Pearl White and Brushed Stainless!

(Yeah, I'm really technologically driven, lol!)
