down up...top bottom

I dunno man...you UP load photos to the club. We download them.

Also, I think the plates are in basically upside down. The way they're in the rack the most vigorous washing act is gonna wash the back side of the plates, and not the side that you eat off. Plates should be loaded into the rack with the side that you eat off facing the wash arm..not with the soiled side up so you can see it. The water comes spraying up from the bottom. This of it as having soiled the palm of your hand, only when you go to wash it you let the water hit the back of your hand when you're trying to wash the palm. It's exactly the same. Place the plates in the rack with the soiled side towards the spray arm and they'll wash better.

looking closely

ya, no they're not, dude.

Make a plate of your hand and place it in the rack. Tell me which side of your hand is closer to the spray arm..the back side or the palm. If you can still see your palm, the back side of your hand is facing the wash arm.

You should be looking at the back side of the plates in the photo, and the side you eat off of should not be visible, because it'll be facing the spray arm.

I can clearly see the side of the plate that you eat off in the photos, which were taken from the top.

Petaski, isn't your GE tall-tub a GREAT machine?

I try to load with the soiled surfaces facing the center of the machine, which should be nearly equivalent to loading soiled surfaces facing the spray-arms.

The good thing is that the water not only comes from the spray arms, but bounces off the machine's top and sides and front generally enssuring passable results regardless of care taken to load.

The lower rack gets falling water from the top and middle spray-arms as well.

Unless, of course, you have a KitchenWhirlKen tall-tub from a few years back (less than 5). Then all surfaces will be equally gritty and dirty!

Peteski - I know we've met before.

I've been an appliance repair technician now almost 25 years. I've worked on or operated just about every model type machine there is out there. I could understand if you doubted my word if I was, say, exploder, but this is me you're talkin' to here. I know where of I speak and I'm just trying to help, but if you are not aware who you should be taking advice from by now, you are not paying attention.

Like Toggle says, the bouncing and falling water will probably be enough to clean the plate, but if you really want the machine wash action to do it for you, it's better if you put the dirty side towards the spray jets.

Now, this may look different to you than how most folks load them, but it's based on a lot of experience, and not just following the crowd because that's how everybody else does it.

Best of luck.

Plate loading

Peteski you are fine with the way you loaded the plates. Most dishwashers say to load the plates soil side facing the center of the machine. Thats the way I would have loaded it as well. And every manual I have read and dishwasher I have used say to face the center. Plus I would bet that everything came out fine even though the majority of the dishes looked clean to begin with.
Also nice dishes...I too have become a dish-whore of late...although I think if I bring one more thing in the house my partner will kill moi.

Mercy!

Tea and toast, anyone?

I am pouring a nice Darjeeling, and have a good locally made Deli Style Italian bread, fresh, real butter, and homemade (my cousin Delia) raspberry preserves.
