Love The Recirculation On My AEG/OKO Lavamat

But not thrilled that whatever is in the final rinse will sit in that pump and become part of the next wash.

Using separate "Rinse/Starch" cycle is not on as that cycle does not activate the recirculation system. Each new cycle does begin with activating the pump to drain any water from previous loads, but one does wonder.

For this reason among many only use European detergents such as Persil, Super Croix and Ariel in the AEG. Want really clear rinses to prevent gunk from forming and being deposited on subsequent loads.

Yes, the parts diagram shows two pumps and the door gasket has three inlets (probably: light, fresh water and recirc).

Have to chuckle about the "built-in riser", though. It's nothing more than a drawer-less pedestal screwed onto the base of the machine.

 

One thing I didn't notice before is that this is a direct-drive washer.

Malcolm: That would really be a water-efficient washer, especially if it defaults to one rinse. I thought mickeyd said his new LG defaulted to a single rinse, but coupled with some sort of spray...maybe he can elaborate on that. He might have mentioned it in the video he made. I'll have to take another look at it.

As you can imagine, I want to get a GE set SO BADLY now. Due to a cupboard above my laundry pair, I can't use a full-size pedestal, but the RightHeight pair would work perfectly...and raise the tub opening to a more comfortable level.

I'm very happy with the GE dishwasher, and am beginning to think GE may be my new brand. Looks like they have good ranges and refrigerators, as well.

Maybe my sister can make her Whirlpool set limp along a little longer, and I'll pick up the GE RightHeight pair for myself, LOL.[this post was last edited: 7/7/2014-11:54]

We have had ours since January and love the washer and dryer.  We had the Square door Frigemore that was great but this GE is great.  Washers well and rinses so good.

I love the look of these washers myself, especially in the Grey Color. Why didn't you r friend buy the 'right height" model?

They are very nice looking. My mom just bought the right height set. She loves them so far. Only had them a few weeks. She did not want a stacked pair because my two sisters have their Duet stacked and she has a hard time seeing the dryer controls. My wife did not want our Duets stacked for the same reason, but is sorry we did not get the risers for ours, but is wondering if they would vibrate more in we had them. Our FL house is on a concrete slab but on the extra high spin the Duet tends to vibrate a lot.
