Hi, new user here. I came across this forum and it seems like a really great source of information. I just picked up a 1956/7 GE Stratoliner stove J402M model. It's in great shape and has been in daily use for the last 5yrs. Right before I picked it up the owner noticed that the capillary tube wire had broken and said the oven was getting really hot just in the last couple of days. I purchased the service and parts manuals through this site today and located part # WB21X177 for a replacement thermostat.

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket replacement available for this part, or if the wire going to the temp probe (I think that's what its called) can be re-attached somehow? Thanks in advance! -Mike

I can post pics if needed.

Great stove!

Do you have a better picture of the part?

It might not be a bad idea to keep an eye out for another one on Craigslist just to get the parts off of it.

Another one.

Thanks for the links! I had found the one on Ebay and sent them a message about it for more pics to make sure. Between both of those links I might be able to get up and running.
I'm already watching Craigslist for a parts donor ...and one for my fridge too : )

Just by chance I was at the RE-store up in Ballard and they have the liberator version of this stove for $50 they told me. It is not in as good a shape as yours. It is the double oven version though.
