new lg washer/dryer combo

Hello everyone
Is there any good new about this new machine. have they inproved the drying feature. the older models would take 4 1/2 hrs to do a compleat wash&dry . this new model is a 4.3 cf even bigger than the last model and STILL A 120 v unit. I have the 220v washer/dryer combo it washes good but still takes 2-2 1/2 to dry a 9 lb load of towels verry disapointing. has anyone know of any new combos in the works?

Something doesn't sound right about your dryer taking that long to dry a load of towels. I don't think it should be taking that long and if it did I'd be questioning it as to why?
One possibility that will affect your drying time is if you use fabric softener. If you do it will extend the drying time which is one thing to consider. Also check to make sure that the dryer exhaust isn't blocked.
You could possibly have someone look at the dryer who is reputable at servicing if you aren't capable of doing that yourself and to check in case something else may be a problem.
Anything you purchase that only uses 120V as it's only source for running the dryer is going to take longer to dry if it isn't also a gas heated dryer.

The only way these 120 volt,ventless combos worl well is with real cold water. Condensor drying works best with colder water. These dont dry as fast because their voltage doesn't allow as much heat as 220 volt volt version would. Why nobody makes any 220 volt or a gas 110 volt model puzzles me to themax.

this machine is a condenser combo. i have had it cleaned out and still the same drying time. i think it has a bad design.fagor has discontinued the model from there web site.i had a malber wd2000 combo it dryed much better but the suspension springs broke on me twice thin cheap springs and malber went under. The lg combo looks nice and has the features but at $1.900.00 is a high price for something that doesn't work any better then the rest of the combos out their.

The LG has a larger capacity whether it's the 24" or the 27". It has better air flow and a fast final spin kf 1400 RPMs. During the final spin,the dryer heat begins. The best set up is where tap water is COLD because the colder the incoming water,the faster the air condenses evaporating the steam/ draining out the water. They were not real efficient in Florida or Texas like they were when I had one in Baltimore. I grew up with the Lady Kenmore (1963) and the average complete wash/dry cycle took 120 minutes. It was a gas model and ran on 120 volts. Top of their line of four models. I am sure that ,had it had as fast of a spin as the current combos,the cycle time would have differed being considerably less. Why none of the previous manufacturers i.e.,Whirlpool, Bendix, GE, Crosley have yet to reintroduce any current , full size or smaller size combos is beyond my comprehension. They save time,money,space,water and can be installed where ever there's a fresh faucet hook up,drainage and power. Is it that none of their anual,six digit income engineers can figure out how to make w 220/208 volt electric or a 120 volt gas model of the combination washer dryers?

Has anyone heard talk about ANY Manufacture coming out with a Gas Combo?
I can't understand why not. I have always wondered if the reason was old patents that are still in effect...
