Hello to all aw as anyone seen the new 2014 model line for the kenmore topload washer and what is the diffrence with the 2013 line and they seem whirlpool made as well all info welcome

I cringed when I noticed the plastic container suspended by 4 rods. $500. is a lot of money for this "tinker toy".

John (combo52) or other dealer/repair types out there, have you had any first hand experience with the new KM/WP line-up of this design?  I'm interested in <span style="text-decoration: underline;">thoughtful impressions and opinions</span> of these machines.  If the top picture is correct, these machines have a solid inner tub on the sides!  How remarkably retro!!!

Also, while not new to these machines, I am pleased to see more and more machines making a distinction between "cold" water (approximately 75 degrees) and "tap cold" (which in mpls. today is 50 degrees).  Does anyone know what temperature "cold" tempers the water to on these machines?  

 

Tempered cold water is certainly a boon for those who wish to wash in mostly cold water and have the detergents actually work to get clothes clean!

I was looking at the page on the link from the top of this thread, and I wonder if this is one of those that has the lower water rinse. I was looking for a link to find a user/spec manual, but couldn't find it.

It seems logical that top load washers return to solid tub designs in an effort to lower water use. Seems what's old is new again. I can't wait till the reintroducion of the lint ejector tube and recirculating water lint filter.

Briefly 5 years ago...

Simpson modified their standard top loader design to a solid tub with a recirculating pump in an attempt to save water but the design sank without trace Does anyone else remember this or do I just double the dose of the little blue pills and lie down for awhile?
