Thanks for your comments. I like you like the styling. The more I look at it the more I like it.

I was very good and didn't get the matching washer. Think its a Z 919 or something like that. I only had the room for 1 machine in my car and it's a bit of a treck to get there as it's not very close.

I hope it lasts a good while.

I love how the Synthetic heat is very low which is great for delicate items you are not meant to tumble dry. (im bad at ignoring such things as "do not tumble dry" on labels)..lol

Hope your keeping well and your wee boy is doing well.

This is excellent, I might get shot for saying this but there are not many Zanussi machines that i like..........but

The early models like this i like very much, solidly built and well designed, so in my opinion a very big well done for getting this one, to me it oozes qaulity and inspires confidence, the stainless steel drum is a good starter for me, I wont even venture to ask whats wrong with your modern Hoover...........

The timer, I came across a simular timing set up on the white knight dryers, 3 mins forward and 15 seconds back, which does work, but being the interfering git i am i modified the reverse cam so it reversed for 30 seconds, also those timers were used in the small drum models, so maybe in a normal size drum machine the Zanussi timing wont be a problem

I am glad you have got this machine, I reckon it will serve you well

Congratulations on the new dryer, I really like these ones, however I'm not sure of the porthole on them, the whole plastic bit full of holes looks a bit naff to me lol.

I found the same reversing problems on a friend's modern Zanussi dryer which I wasnt overjoyed about, the same applies to the white knight models. I dont feel that a 10 second reverse is very efficient at all in helping de-tangle the load.
The only dryers that I know of that reverse evenly are old Hotpoints and still today modern Indesit co dryers. I have a full size Indesit IS60V and I love it. Had it for just over a year and cannot flaw it at all. I can tumble dry everything on low heat as its just the right temperature I feel for pretty much anything, and it dries a load of towels in around 60 mins on low! Tumbling wise it tumbles on average 2-3 mins one way and 2-3 minute reversing. This I find is very efficient and the loads are never tangled.
Sorry I kind of got carried away there lol.

Zanussi Z 910R

Hi,

This machine has some sentimental value to me.
This is the very first machine I looked at, my first job as a domestic appliance engineer for Electrolux.
The capacitor had gone, and as I knew sod all about appliance repair at the time I took the entire drum and rear bearing out to get the new capacitor on.
I then spent ages tensioning the belt etc. After the job I realised you can just take off the plastic access pannel and take it off in 5 min, ha ha ha!

(just read this back, probably only funny if your a domestic appliance engineer)

What a great find you got there.

Love the old washcrafts - simple, clean, smart design.

I know its easy for me to say, but I really think you should (condition and price permitting) acquire that matching washer! They would look stunning alongside each other, or dryer a top the washer.
What model washer was it?

Oh the pain of it all - no one has a matching pair of washcrafts - you could be the first.

No pressure of course.

Could the piccy below help convince you to take the plunge?

Gary - Yes don't ask me about the modern Hoover! It's been a nightmare. Im really pleased with the Zanussi and im sure ill get used to the reversing timings. The thing I like the reversing for is the duvet cover and sheets. It will be interesting to see how it does with the duvet cover. Yesterday I changed the bed and washed the cover and sheets but it was a nice day and I just had tp put them on the washing line!

It does appear to be well built. I am very impressed with the power of the fan! Was very surprised with the strength of the airflow.

Dan!! - Nice to hear from you. Hope you are well. Thanks for your comments. Ive read reviews on the Indesit dryers and they are all good. I must admit for the price and the great reversing they are a good buy. The door with the holes is I think to stop any items being sucked into the filter. It's funny because you can see the clothes but they are kind of hidden and I like that for some reason and I didn't think I would like not having a clear piece of glass.

Hi Bertrum - Im pleased to give you memories of that machine. I didn't realise the drum was attached to the rear panel so that was really interesting when I got it home.

Paul - Thanks! I really could't decide whether to get the dryer or not. I left it the week and then when I went back it took me ages to decide to get it. Think it was because I had never had a Zannusi and I was waiting to get a Hoover Logic or any Hoover reversing dryer. I though had read good reports on this website from people about this line of zanussis so finally decided to take the plunge!
I tried not to look at the washer too much as I knew it would make we want it but from what I remember the washer im sure is model Z 919 . It has 2 option buttons and one of them is "no spin" I think. The cosmetic condition is good at the front but the side has rub marks. The previous owner obviously only did low temp washes as the door seal is minging. Mouldy and eeewwwww! I have a feeling though it has the chrome door rather than the brown/black so not an identical match for the dryer. I didn't ask how much it was.
Im not sure what to do. It may have been purchased by now. It was also meen I would have to get rid of one of the washers I have.

Mark if only you lived closer. I'd have gone back myself and got that washer!!! Its well documented i love zanussi's lots of my friends had that model at school. & one of mums close friends had it so i got to use it lots! The wee boy is doin great thankyou! he's starting to sit up on his own now which is amazing to see!

Paul: I Love that matching set pic! Would kill for that in real life! Looking forward to seeing more of that "zanpoint" In future!

Dan: Your indesit dryer is identical to our hotpoint condenser. It has been far more sucessful than the hotpoint washer that followed it.

Glad that the little one is doing well.
You will have to ask him whether daddy should have a Washcraft Zanussi! If the result of the question is a smile, then you must go to scotland and acquire that Z919, as you should take that as a direct order to go fetch from the boy.

If the result of the question is a frown then you should ignore your son, as he wont have yet learnt to appreciate the 'Appliance of Science' and you should go get the machine anyway.

In all seriousness, its that old familiar irritation of the machines that are out there, but are just too far away to collect OR the old lack of room.
Believe me I understand only too well these annoyances - is now officially costing me and rob a bomb to store all our bits and pieces.

The price you pay for a hobby - oh soooo expensive.
