It's been months if not a year or more that I can recall buying a new appliance (correct me if I'm wrong someone I'm getting old)  . But I saw a shiny new Instant Pot 8qt pressure cooker on sale and I couldn't resist the urge.  I won a bit of cash at the casino that was burning a hole in my pocket so that didn't help either :)  Anyways, I already had a 6 qt older electronic which I dearly love but it has a teflon pot inside that is starting to wear and a myriad of other excuses to justify buying it..This is 8 qts. and a shiny stainless steel pot inside plus you can saute and brown your meats right in the pc.. So soon as I got it home, unboxed, washed the pot,, chopped some veggies and bought a pound of stewing beef.. in it all went... took about 50 minutes , perhaps a little longer than my older smaller pc, but loving it.   Thankfully the partner is away up in Newfoundland for a home visit so he wasn't here to poo poo it.. lol.. He won't even notice it on the shelf when he gets back.

Didn't dawn on me till after I created the post .. PC to me means pressure cooker :)   Made a big batch, near 7 quarts of chili tonight.  It cooked well but I don't think I put enough chili powder and spices in for such a big batch.. my fault not the machines.. so I had to add more and let it cook for a few more minutes.
