After twenty years it was about time to replace the old Miele Silverstar (S240). Lately the front wheel came off several times and the screw that should keep it in position keeps turning around. If I wanted to keep it, it needed a repair. Besides that, it didn't have a HEPA filter, and because I have a dustmite allergy it seemed a good reason not to have the Miele repaired.
For several years now Electrolux have been tested very good overhere. Also they have washable HEPA-filters (H13), so no need to buy new expensive filsters all the time. This vacuum is partly (70%) from recycled plastic, which seemed a good idea. And it has an energy efficient motor. It's 1000 Watt, but it has about the same suction power as it's non-efficient 2200 Watt's brothers and sisters. I don't care much about the bit of electricity saved by this motor, but the less amount of noise was very welcome. On the highest speed it produces 72dB, but on that speed the parquet brush sucks almost stuck to the floor.
Here's the first picture.
