Reminds me of my Kenmore Oasis Even though I like them :)

If I had to do it all over again I would have gone with speed queen.

Whats that saying about putting lipstick on a pig...?

Seriously..there are no agitators in those...how are the clothes getting tumbled around...seems a terrible design.
Also, on the lower model, those buttons will last about 5 minutes...those are the cheapest to manufacture. You really cannot beat physical buttons...

Those machines are just toys! You can't expect them to d

You are so right !!!!!!!!!!

Take the advice - Stay away from those.

If you want them in youre collection then visit a land fill soon - You will have plenty to chose from :)

NO THANK YOU!

My previous Cabrio is what broke my lifelong dedication to Whirlpool. NO THANKS. The fancy screen is just a nicer way of displaying all the error codes you will soon start getting. Even back in 2005...if you were to peak at the clothes, they were struggling to get washed in too little water. Ugh. Bad memories.

It makes me wonder...

...how long before appliance manufacturers start incorporating Android-based controls in their devices? I've seen some pics of microwaves and such with the full-on touchscreen (as prototypes) but a *good* W/D set with one would be an interesting find, especially if it had both "Basic" and "Expert" modes!

Makes me want to hack a SQ set with a 21st century touch-screen control setup for more cycles and options...

I'm thinkin Speed Queen should wrap that fancy gorgeous amazingness around their washers and dryers!!! I know the machines are probably very crappy but.... DAMN those are GORGEOUS!!!!!!! OMFG!!!!! lol

This is just my opinion & I could be wrong.

The reason speed queen doesn`t use the fancy electronics is because they want you to have a reliable machine that will last .

I`m almost 100 percent sure they have tried the fancy electronics & were disappointed with the short life span .

They believe in a tried & proven design.

Again just an opinion of an honest company.

Time Will Tell All

Amazing that the warranty is only 1 yr. It has been a good 5 years since the FL craze began. Interesting to see how many of these are now junk. I know I see alot on craigslist with broken issues. Amazing how people have the money to spend a grand on a washer and five yrs later drop another grand. My Sister spent $500 on a 712 Maytag in 1987, and it is going strong with zero maintenance.

Also how the hell do they wash? People are stuffers. If that tub is that big, people I deal with will fill them up. I have to constantly say dont overfill.

TL'ers are not good at washing clothes in my opinion...just a bad design...they might last long but that is because the old ones are overly simplistic and were built like the tanks they were...

Most NA and Korean FL's are made to last only a few years...has nothing to do with the design of a FL in general...has more to do with profits and the NA desire to not have to pay for quality...

Europeans have been using FL's for years and years...I know people who have had Miele FL last literally a couple of decades...

The only electronics that will not last forever are power electronics(variable frequency drive in a washer) but low voltage stuff (24VDC) should last for ages if properly designed into an appliance...

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!! lip2000

Hey lip2000 your hurting my ears with that blasphemy about my top loader..lol I know we all have different opinions, but I think that those new Whirlpool washers and dryers are the freakin' ugliest machines I've ever seen and $4000 are you freakin kidding me. I could see the directions now.........

HOW TO USE YOUR NEW WHIRPOOL "SMART" WASHER

1. LOAD WASHER FULLY UNTIL YOU CAN BARELY CLOSE LID
2. ADD SOAP. 5X HE LIQUID SOAP...NO MORE THAN 1 DROP.
3. TURN ON MACHINE
4. EXPECT MACHINE TO ADD 1/2 OUNCE TO ONE FULL ONCE OF WATER
5. WATCH IN AMAZMENT AS YOUR CLOTHES GET WASHED WITHOUT WATER.
6. EXPECT MACHINE TO TAKE AT LEAST 4 HOURS FOR HEAVY DUTY LOAD
7. REPLACE MACHINE EVERY 4 YEARS

Speed Queen

Well, I hate to say this, but the SQ machines in the coin-op world are all microprocessor controlled. So, for that technology to come to the residential line isn't that big of a step.

That would be great for the front loaders, give them fore flexibility in wash time options.

put that screen on a frontloader and I could possibly be persuaded to part with my beloved Calypso.
