My neighbour from across the road has just come across telling a story of how her Zanussi FL1023 on a synthetic cycle starts at low fill and fills in short bursts until the water level reaches just an inch below the top of the door before giving the laundry the thrashing of it's life. She says it's only about 8 years old. I'd be interested to see this in action. However it surely has to be older than that??? Any ideas as to how old??? I think we must live on Zanussi Street as everybody seems to have them!

i have some whites to do in a bit. Darren (and anybody else) does anybody want to see more pics and/or videos of my Zanussi dong eccentric things (i can think of a few processes the machine does which are quite novel) name some and il have a go at capturing them as I'm in the mood for a 90 degree wash for these whites!

I'd looooooooooooove to see more pics! ya even got me in the mood to use my aeg cause of the similarity, i havent used it for weeks! lol
as far as my newwave is. i'm runnin aload of brown trousers, shirts n cardigan through atm. i'm still deciding/tryin to find out how much a new module will cost. i dont really want to fit it cuz i dont lyk medelling with electronics. i was fine changin the heater n brushes etc. but the electronic board jst confuzzle me.

any suggestions would be appreciated. i have to get it to do 1300rpm which i've not seen my newwave do in the whole time i've owned it!

Hey

Hey Everyone, i've made a post about ariel on the detergents area of the site, and some websites containing detergent ads from the 1990's

Have a look at them guys!!

More Pics and Vids of your zanussi

Hey Sadose, can i see more pics and vids of ur zanussi in action, ur jetsystem is awesome, its like a wide spray, instead of a hose spray like mine has, its really powerful, i'd love to see ur zanussi washing whites with loads of suds, do you get loads of suds using ariel on a hot wash coz i get a few using ariel colour on my whites at 60 degrees. (can only use ariel colour, i'm sorry to say that i am repulsed by the smell of ariel biological powder)

Ahhh those messages caught my eye as i was sorting through dirty socks for the white wash! Ariel is the brand I stick to these days due to the heavy soiling from my mum's elderly client. I find nothing else can shift some of the stains she likes to put on her garments! Half a cup of Ariel and 2 tablespoons of Napisan along with a splash of Lenor in the final rinse...perfect!

Darren, does your Logic have a Mixed Wash on it? My old Hoover Computer control had one on but it wasn't an automatic cycle, it used for soak and then tumble occasionally whilst keeping the water at 40 degrees and then once it had washed enough it had to be manually switched to rinse. What is the Mixed Wash on your Logic like (if it has one?)

Finally, apart from the latter being newer, what is the difference between the Logic and the Ecologic becuse I've seen an Ecologic and in terms of watching a cycle I didn't see much different comparing it to a 1984 Hoover Electron 1100 in terms of water usage etc. Thoughts on this???

Zanussi_Lover. With regards to suds...the simple answer is yes. Even though I live in an area where the water is reasonably hard I do have to be careful with powder as it can get a bit too soapy. I find the suds tend to get worse on the 90 degree wash towards the end of the wash when the jetsystem switches off before it puts 7 litres of cold water in for the cool down... once the water is heated and it's mid wash I believe that the jetsystem spray acts as a foam suppressant.

hey Sadose!
to answer ur Questions.I DO have a mixed load prog i've not used it yet. but now u've said how it works i will give it a try. i didnt know how it worked cause no manual with the machine. i do truely love this machine to the ground & i will continue to revive it time after time. as i will with my other machines.

differences between logic & ecologic is merely water usage i believe. i do like both these machines.

i was considerin an ecologic on ebay when my logic went wrong but managed to sort the problem so i didnt need it.

I cant believe you had a computer logic how jealous am i!!! dream machine to find for me is one of those. even if the cycles are probably the same as my machine! there just real pretty!

So are you happy with your zanussi?!! it certainly looks very nice. & that 7kg drum is huge. i'd really like the 8kg Electrolux insight. but the lack of water & price detere me a little.

Love ur zanussi sadose!! it is totally awesome, i've always wanted to see how zanussi would adapt the jetsystem by altering the pressure of the pump and how many litres are sprayed out per minute. First they made the jet hose bigger and then they changed the hose to three holes in the top of the seal so the water sprays outwards like yours has. Its wierd how zanussi dishwashers are now called Jetsystem lol, they were always called Aquapulse which i thought sounded more appropriate for a dishwasher!!

Heres a pic of a jetsystem diagram i found on the internet, it was originally in a zanussi brochure from 1994-1998

The computer control 1100 I had is actually pre logic. It was made in 1984 and i believe formed the basis of the standard logic's when they came out a couple of years after, the computer logic was more advanced than the computer control I had. I have a feeling they may have made the mixed wash an automatic programme on the Logic but am unsure. If they have I presume the cycle would run as a compromise between Minimum Iron and Delicates.

On the whole I am very happy with my Zanussi, I chose it due to the fact that if you put it on Rinse+ on cottons you get 2 more rinses not just 1 and if you use rinse+ and easy iron combination on a cotton cycle you get 8 rinses! After the huge disappointment with the Hotpoint rinsing I decided to get this one especially as some of our neighbours have older Zanussi's and they all praise them highly.

Talking of Large capacity washing machines, I wonder...just out of interest what the Hotpoint Extendia and Aqualtis are like. I personally won't be purchasing either as I have gone off Hotpoint in a big way..but it's food for thought.

My auntie had a Zanussi Jetsystem FJ1033 I think it was the 1990/1991 model... it was rubbish to be honest as the bearings were always going on it however... her machine had no specific jet for the spray like yours and mine does. Instead the pump used to just spray the water through the paddles and holes in the drum from the top. I never thought much of it, but it definitely had a recirculation pump as it used to spray when the drum was stationary, but in essence was nothing special as I think of it as a glorified version of all of the machines on offer today in the fact that their paddles pick up water and spray it onto the washing when the drum rotates.

Old Zanussi washers

The reason i bought a Zanussi was because my friend bought 2 Zanussi FL812 washers in 1989 and she replaced them in 2001 after they both broke down after being used solidly 10 times a day 7 days a week for 12 years. Now that is a work horse lol!! I've always liked that zanussi machine ever since i was a child, the FL812 has in induction motor which makes them really quiet on the wash and spin cycles, plus they use loads of water and they have lots of programmes on dial, i believe on the FL812 washer the cycles go from A-X i believe, i also loved the way that u pulled the dial out to start the programme on them. I can remember my brother had a tricity bendix washer that had a pull out dial. it was great

Heres a pic of a Zanussi FL812 from 1989

nice machine and very 80's esque with grey! I wonder...as a follow up to my previous post...did the water level used to go right upto just an inch below the door on high fill as it looks like it's possibly the same era as my neighbours FL1023.

cool, i loved my brothers zanussi, i knew the water sprayed through the paddles on earlier versions as my mums friend has a 1994 FJ1094 i used to go round and when i used to watch it. I used to do my brothers laundry for him stay at his house, i never understood why on his washer it had a fast spin button, i've heard of a slow spin button but not a fast spin button lol.

I love Zanussi's

Kyle

P.S sadose what is your favourite lenor scent??
