Norge Washer

I Have a Norge washer given to me by a co-worker from the basement of his house, the cabinet is shot but the console, inner tub, agitator, lint filter and fabric softener seem to be in good shape it needs to be cleaned up... I have it covered with a tarp until I can get it inside, I don't know what the inside ( tranny,pump etc )looks like I have not had time to look.... if anyone would like this for parts etc it's yours for the taking, either pick up or arrange for shipping....Pics attached...Jim

Actually looks like it would look really nice with a THOROUGH cleaning.
Looks like a nice machine. Too bad it was neglected.
Maybe someone can bring it back to life?
Or do you think it's too far gone?

Cleaning

It looks as if someone used the machine as a flat surface to cut wood... there is sawdust in the tub, I just got this home last week and was unable to clean it, after looking at the bottom of the cabinet I realized the only usefulness would be to part it out.....Jim

Ah.
Going back for another look at the pictures, I just noticed the "50 Years" on the panel.
So it was an anniversary edition?
Makes me feel even worse that someone trashed it then.
At least maybe its parts can help another one live on.

I like those holes in the agitator base... Are they used to help draining?

There are some hints that my mom’s old Bradford washer and dryer were made like this, but the control panels on hers were a bit slanted, so maybe those machines were built by a different company...

Parts

When I saw the pictures of the machine from my co-worker it did not show the bottom of the cabinet, when I went to pick it up it's so rusted I noticed it was basically caving in on itself...I still took it, I thought the good parts could be used on someone's norge washer....Jim

As I have said, a few cues made it onto my mom's Bradford, both W and D, seeing how as I have seen Norges (& their variants, as well as private brand ilk) & could easily compare components and parts, but often to only notice striking differences...

Hence the Bradfords were the last of the soon-to-be-defunct Franklin- or Hamilton-made... Norge was definitely one-of-a-kind!

Somehow you must rescue whatever redeemable parts or even just the cabinet, itself, before one more log or hunk o' wood has to be cut on top of her...
