Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Well, I went today and had a ganer. The dryer they had next to it didn't have a window. BUT THE WASHER DID!! YAY!! There was an F&P IWL12/IWL15 on the other side of the cabrio dryer. So I got to do a little bit comparison. The WP drum is larger, but I wonder if it's highest water level fills as high up as the F&P does.. I like the idea of the rubber fins at the base of the agitator. However, my concern is how that rubber will hold up over time given what we saw happened to the rubber tips on Hotpoint washers and anther couple. And what will that deterioration do to fabrics. I do like also the Cabrio's ability to have a full-fill hot without having to do some option modifications as on the F&P. There is a "Deep Cleaning" option that sounds very similar to the ecoactive phase of the F&P with its concentrated dtergent solution raining down on a slowly rotating drum. The model I saw had an agitator-mounted fabric softener dispenser. Theer's a$100 more model on the web site, but there appeared to be no differentiation with Lowes' minimalist comparison chart. What I do like is the programmability of the F&P with regards to variance of the water temps within the hot, warm, cool and cold ranes. Thus you nkow more of what the temp really is vs. what WP has with their controlled warm & cool wash temps. Also the F&P spins faster. It will be interesting to see how load rollover is with the floating tub & corckscrew top part of the agitator vs. the F&P's action. Frankly, I'd love to see a sxs comparison. All in all, what kicks butt the most is the windowed lid. All-in-all considering, THe F&P and potentially the agitatored Cabrio/Oasis are the top loaders on the market today to opt. for if still wanting a top loader.

Thanks Bob for the scoop on these new machines...i am just getting ready myself to make a trip to Lowes to see these new machines.

I agree also that these are the machines to get if opting for TL. Many posters as you know on THS who own them say they work great.

Lowes website?

Appnut, can you provide a link for the Cabrio on the Lowes site? I've been looking, but I can't find it.
Thanks,
Virginia

Oasis for me

I went and checked out the Goats, or Convertibles (depends on which country you're from). Y'all were right, it does have an agitator with the gentle rubber fins at the bottom. And $300 less than the OasisHE. But I must be true to my Kenmore following so Oasis it is. Either way, they're WONDERFUL machines and I can't wait to come home next week to see a Pacific Blue Oasis washer in the laundry room.

Course, I'll be ecstatic to see a 1970 Kenmore 800 sitting next to be.

Thanks !!!

At least WP is making the agitator model with a see through glass lid. Very stylish machine. As Bob mentioned previously..i would like to see how this machine works with the DAA.

This is the more deluxe model my Lowes didn't have. Mine also had a blue agitator, if I remember. This model has a countdown display as well as one or two mroe spin speed options (the button between the soil level on the left and water temps on the right--of the 3 clustered on the left hand side of the options). Wish this model had a flow-thruough softener dispenser so ya didn't have to return to add softener when using the 2nd rinse option.

WHIRLPOOL CABRIO

Is Whirlpool Cabrio the always agitator? right? There is not have without the agitator of the Cabrio...? (same as Kenmore Oasis)

Peter..i was wondering too if WP was offering the wash-plate model. Anyhow i am glad that WP is offering this agitator model with glass lid...i think this is my next washer purchase.
