Well I think now I have seen it all! I've been looking for an upright piano for general practice for the last few weeks and I must say...............well.........you look for yourself. Most uprights from that era you couldn't give away for free! They are usually worn out, beat up and not worth $50 if that. And not to mention they weigh a ton!

Some piano people are so....................uh...!

Sometimes it kills me to even read piano ads or sometimes any ebay ad. People either know so little about what they have or they know too much. I guess this is true for most things in life. I love how they took a picture of the decal that refered to the Columbian Exposition. Which basically ment that the company took a piano for display. Just like when pianos had "offical piano of the New York Opera" decals on them which ment the opera house purchased a piano from them. And the 22 hits on Google most likely means the piano company was abscure and produced few pianos which most likely ment that they made crap and didn't stay in business because of their low quality and the pianos they made fell apart so quickly that all of them have long been consigned to the scrap heap. I guess what gets me most is they couldn't look at another upright piano auction and see that there were no other pianos of that type for anywhere near what they were thinking of asking. Or maybe to call a piano tech to see if maybe what they had was worth anything. I guess it all goes back to my grandmothers old saying "not dumb he who asks, but he who gives".

Devon, If that one is priced a bit high, I have a fully restored 1912 Chickering Player Piano that I would sell you for only $74000.00 LOL!! Just kidding! Good luck on finding what you are looking for.

Very nice room! Love the piano! Nothing like seeing a truly restored player piano that looks like it did when it left the factory. I have a Steck Duo-art grand that I love and a 1918 Kimball grand I adore just can't have them with me at my apartment in columbus where I work..........I commute back and forth every weekend. So I basically just want a little upright to play on during the week. BTW.........very good on the era of the furniture! You didn't mix styles or periods...the room actually looks much like a room would have looked in the teens........GOOD JOB!

The restorer that rebuilt my Chickering has several nice unrestored uprights in stock, that are not expensive.If you would be interested, Hollis Piano Service, which has been in business since 1954, is located here in Fort Wayne. If you are working in Columbus Ohio,that is not that far from Fort Wayne. Let me know if this might work for you.
