You know these new Frigidaire stainless top-freezer fridges? They've got nothin' on this!

Stopped by the recycler after work and ventured through some pretty thick mud when I spotted this baby. Had to give Ben and call and he came by a little later and we ventured out to bring her home. What a mess!

Of course it took some major cleaning to bring out the gleam! Looks like it works too- There was, umm, Krispy Kreme donuts inside, along with two deli wrapped meat packages. Luckily I think it came out of service just this week. The litmus test will be tomorrow when we find out if the two cold beers we placed inside are indeed cold.

If you look at the pic in the first post you can see the Frigidaire features sticker on the left side. They claim over 300 lbs dry weight! Any takers on a year?

Now to find a compatible ice tray, fix the pedal, and give it a good interior cleaning! Pretty neat eh?!

What a day!! I knew it must of been good when Cory calls me before I got off work! This is probably one of the coolist units I've ever seen. I can tell with the pics that the elbow grease we put into it tonight sure did pay off (with my thoughts of seeing the Frigidaire in the mud!) I think the model was a K55? Cory does that sound about right?

Any one know how hard it is to find a Stainless Steel unit, not from just any MFG, but in the 60's?

Ben

Amazing!!

The sticker inside the fridge does not belong to this unit - the sticker is from a 3-door side x side unit from about 1975-76 and obviously this stunning beauty is about 10 years older than that! Is there a model number stamped on the back of the fridge or the model/serial plate should be along the door frame (inside) to pinpoint the exact date. Is there an icemaker?

Now that I actually read the top line!

I thought it was strange that the sticker only mentioned colors available, but no SS.

The data plate says 55A. On the back of the fridge it's stamped: EPI-13B-61-CH.

Any guesses?

WOW

Now how cool is that!!!!!!!!!! What a find! Can you believe someone would throw that away! From the model # it says it's a 61. I wonder if the CH stands for chrome? Good job Cory!!!!!

Wow oh wow oh wow!!

Cory Cory Cory....

How do you do it? I am so jealous that my fingers can hardly type!!

That refrigerator would look just beautiful in the same kitchen as the 1959 CI stove. I had no idea that Frigidaire manufactured a stainless steel refrigerator. What an innovation! As Panasonic would say, "just slightly ahead of our time."

Jealous, but happy for you
Venus :-)

Great looking classic fridge

Wow Cory! That is a fantistic rare find! And to find it in stainless steel as well. Congrats!! Do you have any plans for it now that you have saved it?

Rick

Better call me.....

If you decide to get rid of this gem and don't call me first.....I will fold my arms and pout ):(((((

It even has the handle in the right place for my kitchen.

BTW, does it resemble this?

Ben:

Dude, it's yours ;-)

Would love to have seen you all loading that thing up. Don't guess your backs will ever be the same.
