That's weird... I would have guessed a Kenmore because the control panel looks A LOT like a KM.   I've not seen a WP with such a flat, none slanted control panel..... unless someone added the WP name to it???

i know that around the 80 canadien whirlpool washer dryer look like this i know while growing up the washer in this pic was the family daily driver but we did not have the matching dryer we had a whirlpool dryer but in 1992 that was diffrent than the washer as at the time the washer was bought we did not need to buy a new dryer

That WP dryer looks almost generic, like it was drawn by an 8 year old... but descibing that washer also as "OLDER?" What year would you say that washer is... it can't be older than mid 2000's?

That was probably one of those models made for discount stores that did not look like the rest of the line up so customers could not find it at any other stores and hassel them about the price of their WP dryers. We used to have two stores here that carried stuff like that, including a Frigidaire 1-18 with the space capsule agitator in it to wash little loads at the bottom of that big tub. No other store stocked such a machine, but it used up spare parts and was advertised at a cheap price to at least get people in the store.

Actually, this was a decades old Kenmore console design....

That Whirlpool took out of the leftover Tupperware bins and re-heated. I remember this model well - I nearly did a triple-take when I saw it on the floor of an appliance dealer in town in the very early 1990s.

This model came right on the heels of another Whirlpool dryer that still used the console and graphics of the LHA series from 1979/1980 production, except what was flat black on the LHAs was dark brown and black on this one-off dryer. It was current for at least four years with WP, then this model showed up, but for nowhere near as long a period of time.

This is the console styling, right down to the textured/brushed aluminum double-slanted top, that Kenmore used in mid and upper level models in 1974 and 1975, right before the debut of the wet-look black panel washers.

Why WP would come up with a dryer in this panel is a complete mystery, but you could have put this next to a 1974 washer and had a semi match.

Here are a couple examples of the originals, this one is a 1975 KM 500:

I have the identical Whirlpool, gas version. 90's vintage. I'm looking to replace mine if anyone wants to take it!
