UNBELIEVABLE
I came home and saw the well-known calamity of a Frigidaire tub drained to the level of the water bellows. All Frigis know that water CAN NOT escape the tub except through the holes around the rim. Unless the bellows fails. First, I checked to see it the Maytag has sucked up the water. Nope. Well, this Frigi has had nothing in but water for weeks. No foreign objects to tear or pierce the rubber. Could the flung cap have wedged violently during pulsation and caused a tear?
Pumped the water back into the tub, went about my business, returned a while later and the water, again , had drained out. Christ, now I've got to find another bellows. Not easy. I'll contract Launderess to shop for me. She'll find one, I thought. Well worth the shopping fee. I took such good care of this bellows after an anonymous member gave it to me. Never overloading, no sharp objects, no stabbing at the rubber for fun. Nothing.
So I pumped the water back one last time, and Miracle of Miracles..... It held. Not convinced of this being possible, I varied the height of the pulsator, listened for leaks, went swimming, waited, went out for dinner. A few hours later: IT'S STILL HOLDING. Did the bellows wedge up and then regain its groove? What? Did a small rip seal? I have no idea what's going on here people. But look. No leaks.
I was all set to say: The things we do for love. Me, determined to create a Labor Day Thread about the Fake Horrors of Washing, and rushing throught it, doing too much, all cost me a bellows, a real horror, and LO, the hole was magically healed. No, I haven't had any Bourbon yet, and the crack pipe is still broken. So save it. LOL.
Must be true that once in a while, it is a charmed life, after all. [this post was last edited: 9/2/2013-23:45]
