OK, they say it's a washer/dryer combo, but I'm stumped

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I did once see an ad for an Easy square-tub wringer washer. It may have even had a window in the lid if my memory serves correctly. But I have never seen one in person.

I think the machine that this thread is about is a Bradford, Wizard or Coronado...built by Franklin. I recall seeing these models in Western Auto many years ago when I was a boy. The lid lifts off, is not attached to the machine.

Cool machine, but $500 is a bit much. Kevin, since its in the LA-area you should offer $75 and see what they say.

Covina is about 10 minutes from me. (Unless it is morning rush, then it's about an hour.)I don't need a wringer washer much either, but if someone needs a messenger, I can be available. Tom

Nice

I wonder if like me you thought the front was a door with those "handles in the middle" well it could be that the front does come open to store the wringer like some of our models did...

But also if the rotary dial is the motor on/off switch then the controls could be for agi / pump start/stop and wringer start/stop!!

Lovely machine, Kevin I`m with Rich...go get it!!! I`m sure in the tardis you can make room for a little wringer action!!

Cheers, Mike

Oh, Mr. Sellers, you were a gem!

Well, as Inspector Clouseau used to say (and it ALWAYS brought a big silly/happy grin to my Dad's face) "the CASE is SOLVE-ed!"

Kevin, I'm with you; whereas I can and will waste buckets of cash on vintage automatics and such, g-d wringers, (or, as they're called on Craigslist, "ringers") are such a waste of space and time. Wringers are so the "8-Tracks" of the vintage appliance world. Ducks, covers, runs.

I'm still mad about the time when I was 6 years old in the Hamden Sears/Roebuck store and wasted 1/2 an hour standing by that stupid machine waiting for it to spin. My blond moment.

Thank you Ken and Mike for the encouragement...

... to go get this machine... but I have no interest, zero. Also, I am more interested in automatics. I have one Maytag E2LP wringer and that's enough, thanks!

Kevin
