I have my grandmother's 7 speed "Pulse*Matic" blender. It has developed a teeny, tiny leak from where the blade gear connects into the baseplate. Whatever leaks is tinted dark grey, like old grease. Does this mean the blade plate is on its last blends?

Mine tends to leak a little bit of ..
black stuff when I use it.
I would rather it leak out, than in, if you know what I mean.

likely the bearing is worn. fortunately the blade is less than 20 bucks and is available on Amazon and eBay and WM. the new "ice chopping" blade is an improvement. and the new gaskets are nice too.

Take it apart sometime and wash it. That might help it.
It is also a good idea if it is glass, to run very hot water in it for a little bit. That always stopped leaks in the blenders I have. I have had this leak before with liquids, and the hot water thing always made it stop, and actually never leak again.
