Incredible! What a beautiful machine, and your restoration it looks better than new! And I love it with the bow, just like it would have been for that perfect 1957 Christmas gift, though I doubt it would quite fit under the (aluminum) tree!
I now have a serious case of combo envy! Thanks for posting the photos, it is a treat to even look at. I've always loved that control panel and the wonderful starburst design on the big knob.
What a breathtaking machine! If I had ever seen one of these machines in a dark basement when I was a little kid, I would've been terrified (although unable to leave) by it lol
Don't think the underparts were as shiney when this diamond came off the assembly line as they are now! GOOD LORD!!!
If I had more time I'd take the breath-taking # 3 ~ "Washing" and make the Ultimate Holiday Greeting Card of the most coveted upsurging Jet Circulation, the coolest washer move I've ever seen. Thanks so much for that shot which will shortly be my screen page.
John, what is the OFF setting for on the water temp switch?
Loved the lasagne ribbon and bow. I think you could have gotten Mr. and Mrs. Stewart to come and pose for that pictures such a good job you did. Or at least the Dachshund. It looks like you polished and painted every component.
The only painting I did was on secondary parts which were not primed. That would be the base and all grey parts. The base was the only thing that really needed to be painted. The other parts were in good condition. But the OCD kicked in and I painted them anyway.Did the same with the 57 Philco Bendix Duomatic.
This is one of the pictures the seller sent me.This is where the machine was installed when it was brand new.And it was in storage for about 9 months before I got it.
I replaced ALL hoses and the pump diaphram needed to be repaired because of a 3" tear.Thank God for nylon thread.Seems to be holding well.Should this fail in time I will convert to an electric pump which would intail moving things around under the machine so it can pump the water the way it should. These diaphrams should have been reinforced like heater hose is.They may have lasted longer. All other rubber parts on machine were fine.
