P&G to roll out new products

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

what really is going to happen...is either their going to make smaller packages/quantities and charge the same price

or to make, let's say, TIDE with less of the additives/ingredients that make it the great detergent it is today

No company out there is going to cut cost, and yet give the consumer the same equal product with a loss...after all, we actually pay in that price for the fancy packaging and the BIG advertising.....why don't they cut back on these....reduce some of those huge salaries...and yet still give us the total quality that we pay for....

If P&G is so "GREEN"...how many of their top execs have company cars that are Mercedes or BMW's..try cutting cost in the company itself....they should show by example and drive a Hybrid Prius or Honda...

I have a buddy who's a top exec for a bank...he drives a Hummer for a company car...the bank pays for this whole vehicle...insurance, gas, maintenance, and he gets to use it for personal use and vacations...I give him hell everytime we talk...my little nickel and dime fees and all the meaningless fees we consumers pay for, just so he can have a personal vehicle....

LOOK next time you pull into a bank or similar business and see what YOUR hard earned money is REALLY paying for...That shiny new JAG or Beemer...think about it! You don't pull into a laundromat and see the owner driving a luxury car...he most likely has a minivan for deliveries and supplies and maybe his wife has a little toyota...at least for the ones in my area....but if he was driving a Corvette...I would be looking for a new dry cleaner...I know it's 2 diffrent businesses but it makes you wonder...is business really that good this time of the year for any company...or is that dentist pushing ROOT CANALS to cover his car payment...

I REFUSE!!

I WILL NOT spend 8 freaking dollars on a regular box of Tide! I will use Gain or Cheer or another company's brand to get my clothes clean.

HOWEVER...figure this one out! A box of the HE Tide is 6.27 at Wally World, compared to the almost 8.00 of REGULAR Tide! I thought HE detergents were supposed to be higher? If necessary, I might buy the HE one and use it in a top loader at the laundromat.

Tide may be P&G's "flagship" brand, but at that 8.00 price, I'll watch the ship sink!

Ecolab has had a fabric softener bar, mounted inside the dryer for ages now. So the concept is not exactly totally new.

As for "in wash stain" additive, Spray N Wash (renamed Vanish from the UK/EU", had a similar product which was nothing more than mainly, oxygen bleach, washing soda and enzymes. Indeed the concept which began with products such as "Biz" and "Axion" and contiunes with legions of other products such as "Biotex".

Ecolab bar softner

is a wax bar and WILL leave dark spots on dark color items if left in tumbler for and length of time. Have had them in the tumblers 2 x now and both time a total disaster. If all whites maybe ok..

Prices

were always on the high side. Tide never was the cheapest, because it was the premium brand. Tide has always been between 6-8 bucks. Yes, the detergent got concentrated, but the cleaning power justifies the price.

I'm a Tide man, damn the price. As long as it tops CR's ratings, I'll keep using it. If they dumb-down the cleaning power in order to cut the price, I'll move on to another brand.

I saw this happen to SA8, which seems to have been "weakened". I noticed this when the design on the box changed last year. It's still a fantastic cleaner/stain remover if you use three or four scoops instead of two, but that boosts the user cost pretty high---much higher than Tide.
