Definitely the day of the Kitchenaid dishwasher! They cleaned better and more consistently than any other dishwasher at the time. It did require some care with loading, so the top rack would receive spray too and they actually dried the dishes well too with forced air heated drying.

And it requires hot water at 160F unless you wash things before loading. My 14 is persnickety enough with two washes and a more flexible lower rack. Their first attempt at a detergent dispenser in the 14 took some re-engineering on my part, too.

 

It says it holds a complete dinner service, but for how many and what about the serving pieces?
