One of my favorite Frigidaire sets, even in the right color! That was to my knowledge, the first washer that had the second rinse option that Frigidiare offered. Those were beautiful machines with the offset timer dial. I believe the next year is when they made the tub slightly larger and started making dryers to vent outside like other dryer makers.

While the '58 is my favorite---still a Unimatic with 1140 spin---the console of the '59 or '60 shown showcases yet another hit-it-out-of-the-park sense of style. The colorful rubber-ring agitator is beautiful as well. The Deep Action/Jet Action/space capsule agitator introduced around '64 alleviated the tangling problem, but it's hard to beat the styling of the one shown here.

Little did we know what would happen to the unique Frigidaire washing system 20 years later.

The 12lb pound Frigidaire wash tub was introduced with the 1963 models. The first vented Frigidaire dryer came out in 1955 with the Middle and Bottom of the line models.

The first Deep Action cone agitators appeared with the coin-op washers around the end of 1962 and were all gray in color, they were introduced in the home models during the latter part of the 1964 line and were changed to blue and gray cones and incorporated a cap and bleach dispenser.
