Googled it. Hit a 1966 newspaper ad for it, price $399.95. Per the online inflation calculator, in today’s dollars that was a $3000.00 machine. Imagine that!!

Do any club members have one? If so, photos, stories about how found, and comments please!

This was one of those washers with the variable speed clutch.  Like the Frigidaire and GE with the same feature, they were trouble-prone and I don't think any are around in true working condition.

Hotpoint Variable Speed Washer

Actually HP, [ and Easy ] Norge [ and Wards Signature ] and Kenmore all used a GE variable speed motor to give an infinite speed selection between hi & low which was very relible, only GE Filter-Flow and Frigidaire washers used a troublesome variable speed clutch.

However this feature didn't last long on any washer because it was completely useless, better machines already had three speed motors that gave a good hand-wash gentile agitation, this was a classic case of the men in advertising thinking they had solved a house wives biggest laundry problem, LOL.
