Yay to Launderess post above.
"The one thing that almost all literature I've seen does state is that setting the cold control to the coldest option won't make the fridge cool down any faster. "
No, it won't and that is one thing people just won't get through their thick heads.
Yay. This drives me crazy.
We have a community hall in town and a small group of us meet once or twice a week to practice yoga. (On hold due to covid 19...)
The hall has 3 Fujitsu reverse cycle machines. The ceiling is high, insulation is very poor, the area is cool to cold most of the year. (By Aussie standards - you Midwesterners would laugh at what we call cold...)
So often when set to heat, the temp is cranked up to 30 degrees C, when we start to get uncomfortably hot, someone will get up and switch it off. Till it gets cold, then switch it back on to 30.
It drives me nuts - I have tried in a friendly, good humoured way to explain that we should set the stat to a comfortable temp and LEAVE IT THERE, people nod and smile and agree but next week it is set to 30 again...
I go to yoga to help unwind and to relax, so I try to let it go...
breathe.... breathe...
