The stainless panels arrived today, this time undamaged, and I now have pictures of the finished product.

Some of the shots I anxiously took prior to cleaning up the front came out better than any I took afterward, so I'm using them here.

Notice the green indicator light lenses.

All shined up.

Notice the color of the indicator lights now. Weird. Only the "Clean" indicator lights up green.

I'm really pleased with how this machine turned out. It performs well and does so quietly. It's a far more substantial machine than the Thundering Thermador it replaced.

Nice

The panels came out great congrads! Your machine has the same buttons as mine except the energy saver wash on mine is marked sani-rinse which probably doesn't do any energy saving at all =)

Nice work!

apples and oranges!

Steve, the ISE's were really more equal to the Imperial models of the KA line. In fact, there were Imperials which were identical to this ISE unit with the Rapid Advance timer and cycle lights, heat delay and energy saver feature. The buttons were more in the KA tradition and it had the push down handle.
Your Monterey was really a Superba with slight changes made to the control panel. The all black look on the M Series looked better and more stylish than the fake wood on the Superbas in the opinion of many people. You both have great machines so enjoy them to their fullest.

A fine looking lady!

Ralph,
a job well done! She looks so regal in her new stainless outfitting!

I love the $250,000 door latch handle. That was the sleekest looking thing ever added to a Kitchenaid machine. That handle made it look so neat and smooth. But it cost alot for ISE to modify it to work, but look at the results!

Enjoy the machine. You will never be disappointed in her performance.

In many ways, the KDC21D I had far exceeded even the 21 Superba Monterey I just took out of my kitchen. I sometimes miss itthe (KDC21D) but the person who finally bought it from me reports that it is the best machine they ever had!

More Like the Waste King Rocking Nate, But

Nate is still enjoying his minty Superba 21. I'm going to give him black/white/harvest panels for it since it currently has a wood panel to match cabinets from the kitchen it was pulled from.

No takers on the TT. A few bites on CL, but nobody came through.

Next stop may be the Habitat Re-store.

Tim, I'm hoping this machine doesn't go anywhere for a very long time. I'm happy with it and like the styling.

I think the only machine I'd be tempted to replace it with would be a 22 series Superba Monterey, if they even made such a thing. I don't like the look of the control panels on the 22's that much, so this ISE is really a great solution.

I just ran a "Normal" wash last night. Now that the machine is empty, I'll get some interior shots to post here.

Also, I noticed what sounded like two purges. One after the first wash and drain, and then another after the main wash and drain. Does that sound right? IIRC, my KDI-21 only did one purge after the main wash.

Thanks Eddie!

Here are some interior shots.

With flash (as you can see, I took the nice clean blue door gasket from the KDS-20):

Tub bottom.

Also notice the number of tines on the lower rack from right to left. There are eight of them. The rack that came with the Supreme only had six. Was the 20 series the last to have eight?

Oh yeah Bob, if I had found one of those, it would have been all over. They just don't turn up. I was looking for one before the Thermador showed up a year ago, and it wasn't until I found the Supreme on Craig's List last month that I had seen anything that even came close.

I will definitely snag a KDS22 if it looks like the one in the link you posted!

Come on Down!

And bring a vehicle big enough!
Ralph, I have the 22 Superba like the picture above in great shape for you or even a 21 Monterey..your choice. come and get it(them)!

Thanks for the pics!

IMHO there was never a better color for all that dishwasher vinyl than blue in all its variations. Who do I have to diddle to get all these lunkhead manufacturers to go back to it? Or are we so cheap that we don't want to spend the money on pigment?

OK, so the shape of the panel buttons didn't change until the 23 series? I thought that happened with the 22's but judging from the photo above and the owner's manual illustrations, I was mistaken.

Steve, I'd take that Superba if I lived closer. For now the Supreme is almost the same machine, is an unusual one, and I'm enjoying her. This is my first rapid advance timer, so the Supreme seems very luxurious. If a KDS22 should surface locally I probably will want to secure it, but unlike with the Thermador there won't be a big rush to replace the Supreme.

Nice

Ralph,
Your ISE looks awesome with the panels! Looks so modern!
I was sitting here looking at your dishwasher and it dawned on me that I have a KDP-23. I went and took a look at it and can't tell if it was made at the same time as your ISE. I am sure Steve will know. Interesting thing is that the pump in my 23 is the large WP version. This makes me think it might be a later version of the KDP.
Oh. Have you noticed how many rinses it has by chance?
Here are a few pictures. Excuse the dust!

KUDI 21

Interesting that a KUDI 21 and KUDS 22 that appears to be from the same time period have the smaller Hobart filter system.
