Took my lunch walking around for the exercise. Went thru this little antique shop and among all the other neat stuff was this area where the seller had a ton of Pyrex cookware. Quite a few patterns I've never seen before. Thought I'd share...

Greg:

"Do I see Snowflakes, Sandy?"

You do indeed. Third pic, center unit of the white shelves on the left, third shelf down. Nothing I don't have already, but it's nice to see some still out there. The selection of Pyrex Compatibles in Spring Blossom Green is pretty impressive, including the covered margarine dish, which was never made in Snowflake Blue, though they did make one in plain white. These were a Parkay Margarine promotion, but they are really made by Pyrex - they are not knock-offs. I'd love to find a white one.

Nice to wake up to this!

Thanks for the photo tour!

The little straight handle 2 cup carafe has a Coffeemaster lid on it.

That Westinghouse hotplate was finished in porcelain, hence the chip.

Love all of the Flameware.

It's a shame how the beautiful colors would fade in the dishwasher.

Pyrex/Dishwasher Lesson

Never do it. Never.

You will think you are getting away with it for a while, then one day, you will realize that your formerly pristine treasure is getting cloudy, dull, rough and/or faded.

There is nothing that will restore it once the damage is done.

Buying AND selling

They do indeed sell. According to the people who work the store, the people who run this particular booth make a living out of buying and selling Pyrex as both sets and individual pieces for those trying to make a set or replace a broken item. I don't remember the exact prices but I do remember not flinching when I looked at a few. I have a set or two where one bowl is damaged and most likely will go back and buy the replacement pieces...

Drew:

When you go back, would you be willing to ask or look to see if they have one of the margarine dishes in plain Winter Frost White? I'm looking for one at a reasonable price.

I'm attaching a blow-up of part of your photo, with the margarine dish in Spring Blossom Green circled (okay, rectangled). I can only use the all-white one, none of the patterned ones will work with what I have. All patterns, and the plain white version, have white lids; the same lid is used for all of them.

If this isn't doable, please don't worry about it!

No Pattern!

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear.

The Corelle/Pyrex Compatible pattern called Winter Frost White was plain white, no decoration at all.

So, what I'd be looking for is a margarine dish like the one I circled, but in plain white.

Saw-wee - my bad!

Here's an Ad:

This is a 1979 ad for the Parkay Margarine promotion offering these at half off retail. As you can see, Butterfly Gold, Old Town Blue and Spring Blossom Green are pictured; white (Winter Frost White) is mentioned only in the ad copy. Bottoms were genuine Pyrex; lids were plastic:
