Euell {sp} Gibbons? He was on the Commerical that started out with his saying "Ever Eat a Pine Tree?" Most parts are edible and they can also be used as a topping on your Bowl of Grape-Nuts Cereal...

Anyone remember any other people that did familiar Commericals, please share them as well...

Annette Funnicello did Skippy peanut butter commercials

Dick Van Dyke did Kodak Camera commercials in the early 70's.

Nancy Walker (best known as Rhoda Morgenstern's Ma) did Bounty Paper towel commercials.

Florence Henderson was the spokeswoman for Wesson oil for 15 years and now is a spokeswoman for Polident.

Loretta Lynn did commercials for Crisco in the 80's

Jay Leno was the spokesman for Doritos in the late 80's

PATRICK COFFEY

Lillie Tomlin did all comercials where she had a spot on her white blouse and the water rose to her shoulder and she swished around like an agitator.

Does anyone remember the margarine TV ads in the 1950's that had the phrase: "Polyunsaturated, not hydrogenated, nutritionally unexcelled"? I remember the ad, but not the product or the young woman who was pushing it. I think it may have been Mazola, but not sure.

That's a commercial for Mazola (pronounced "may-zola") oil. The spokesgal called herself "Sunshine Sue."

Sheila McRae pitched Punch detergent.

Let us never forget Rula Lenska, Anna Marie Albergetti, Kati Winters and the dear Mrs Olsen.

Did you hear Kati Winters is in the hospital?
Yep, frozen armpits!

What do you call a drink made with Folgers and vodka?
Screw you, Mrs Olsen!

Did you know that Laura Scudders was in the Hospital and why?

I think Tom Selleck was the first Chaz Man. Chaz was a cologne by Revlon, sort of the men's version of Charlie ("There's a fragrance that's here today and they call it...Charlie!") Thirty years later, it's still my favorite cologne. Bruce Boxleitner was another dude who pushed some kind of cologne--Aramis?

Kelly, you bring up a good question--who the h-e-double toothpicks was Katy Winters? I mean, other than the gal with the sweaty friends? Was she an actress or singer or something? Former Rockette? What?

Anyone remember Carmelita Pope for PAM cooking spray?

tonight,the stars are out

or Dolly Parton pushing Breeze detergent,or Elizabeth Montgomery extolling the virtues of Kindness spray conditoning set,or Chuck Conners standing in a stainless steel Speed Queen washer. How about Marge Redmond, playing narrator and Sister Jaqueline on The Flying Nun,now acting as Sarah Tucker,Cool Whip lady and owner of Tucker's Inn,and OF COURSE, Farrah Fawcett,Cheryl Ladd, and Jaqueline Smith praising Wella Balsam products. Also,Shirley Jones just loved Sunbeam appliances and Pepsodent toothpaste....

who the h-e-double toothpicks was ...

I've had this reaction with many a Hollywood star pitching some product. Ann Blyth was one such person. When I was *a lot* younger she did a commercial for something or other. At that time I had never seen "Mildred Pierce" or any other movie she was in and had no idea why I should buy whatever because she endorsed it.

OTOH, I remember with fondness some ads by actors I recognized. e.g. Bert Lahr originated the "bet you can't eat just one" spots for potato chips. When he died, the role was taken over by Jack Gilford who kept it for many years.

ANITA BRYANT PUSHING ORANGE JUICE

LETS DO FORGET THAT BIGGOTED BITC_. SHE IS ONE TIRED HAS BEEN THAT WAS PUT IN HER PLACE.

Breck Girls!

Candice Bergan, Melanie Griffith, and i think Pam Dawber.

Patti Labelle and BB King do One Touch Glucose monitors.
