It's been a beautiful autumn here in the midwest this year, many are calling the best in decades. Along with the bountiful agricultural harvests, I've found a few appliances too.

First up is a KDI-58 dishwasher, this came from a friend of mine. It's in beautiful shape overall. It's been around a while, he dropped it off this summer, but I don't think I've shared it here yet.

A few weeks ago, I saw this BOL Speed Queen on Craigslist and snapped up quick. A neighbor had this washer when I was a kid, I can still remember seeing it delivered. She didn't have a dryer, her husband was a dental student so she was grateful just to have a washer. I spent many a cycle standing over this machine, one of the few SQ's in our neighborhood.

Money shot - and a porcelain tub. I brought it home, wiped it down and hooked it up. The guy I bought it from had it still hooked up though it hadn't been used in a couple of years. He ran it through a test-cycle and it was still warm and moist when I went to look at it. It needs a bit of adjustment, belts, etc. but it runs great.

Earlier this week, I saw this dryer on Craigslist and picked it up today. I didn't really want an almond anything here, but this is the panel-match to my Whirlpool washer so I'll scavenge some parts from it and let the carcass go. It was a breeze to move as it has some DIY screws holding the lower panel in place - no worries of the gas valve getting away!

I'm going to have to put Craigslist on parental block in my browser, look what popped up last night at 10 PM. A very nice Maytag 806. It needs damper pads, as I suspected when the seller told me it squeaked when spinning and advised that the belt might need some lube. Haven't run it yet, just brought it home this afternoon, but it appears to be very nice.

Those are some great finds.  I do love the CD tags with lit panels but that is a nice SQ even for BOL.

I think that craigslist dishwasher in WI is a Custom model but it would still make a good donor.

Mid-Late 1970's Speed Queen Washer....

@ Greg:

That looks like my late great-grandmother's Speed Queen Washer. Does your have the "Q" emblem on the front of the cabinet?? I know hers did.

And I saw it in action before when I was a kid. It had the same agitator just like the one you have. But I believe hers had a Stainless Steel Tub if I am not mistaking.

Does yours also have that infamous Speed Queen 210 degree arc agitator stroke??? And does it have that "Arcurate (I think that's how you spell it's trademark gearcase) Tranny???

She got hers in 1976 if I could recall correctly. It replaced a 1965 Ford-Philco Washer with the Turquoise Backsplash on the left with all of the controls on the right. I actually saw the Philco sitting in her yard after she got that Speed Queen.

The Speed Queen (like the Philco before that) was paired up with a mid-late 1960's Speed Queen Dryer (not a matching pair in the case of the Speed Queen Washer).

What memories. Those were the GOOD OLE days....
