Ohhhh,  I remember that SQ being in the window at Otasco,  they also had a hamilton dryer from time to time but never  a lot of anything.  I too wondered if it is a banging solenoid machine?  Very nice Autumn finds.  alr

I like those banging solenoids Speed Queen. Lovely machine, it's good to see BOL machines sometimes too. Great find!

The dryer is a great find too. I was intrigued by the set when I saw an ad in an issue of the Architectural Digest in 1982. Here's the scan of that ad.

That Whirlie dryer certainly is handsome! Is this the one that goes with the platinum unit you have?

The Speed Queen is a reversing motor - all domestic production after 1970'ish were. I have not opened even the front panel of this washer yet, I just know there's an invisible thread that when pulled by removing that panel will cause the entire mechanism to collapse into tiny metal shavings and it will never run again LOL.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing your new finds! I really love the 806. I have been looking for a Kitchenaid DW for quite some time, people dont want to give them up around here! My friends Grand Parents have a Kitchenaid Idontknowwhat, but it looks awfully similar to a KDC-15, and I am told it is mine when they go to renovate.

Greg what nice finds I love solid tub Speed Qweens wash in them at the laundromat across the street in germentown years ago when my mom moved.
I would load up 6 or 7 and holler at my mom for starting them out of seqeance.
because when rinse time came I would runfrom one to the other and it would drive me nuts.

Love the solenods clanging when all on...
But my mom never touched them again and left me alone,
So I would start them 15 to 30 seconds apart in the row so no more frustration lol.
