Re: Hotpoint Washer Belt:
Hi! Corey, "hotpoint80" if you Hotpoint Washer has the Filter Ring/Clothes Guard, meaning that it is similar to the GE Filter-Flow Models, you will have to take the back off of the Washer first. Then you will have to loosen the Clamp on the Clutch/Motor Assembly area, but I believe only on the top side of the Clutch, to give you an opened area. You will then have to loosen the 4-Screws that are on the Mounting Plate of the Motor, to loosen the Tension off the Motor Pulley. If I remember correctly, the Pump Pulley is also on top of the Clutch "Spider-Looking" Rubber Driver Assembly. The Belt should then come off of the Transmission Pulley. Reverse this procedure, to put the new Belt on and then you will also have to pull on the Motor Mounting Plate, to tighten the Belt, for proper operation of your Washer.
I'm sure that possibly I might have missed something, given that I haven't worked on any GE/Hotpoint Washers of that era, for quite some time now, so I'm writing from memory.
Good Luck, if anyone does know of something that I might have either written opposite of different than what should be done, please by all means "help" me as well, thanks Guys.
Peace, Great Laundrying, with a Newer/Vintage Hotpoint Washer, Steve
