Republican or Democrat on Nov 7th?

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Unless, of course, there are "irregularities".....

Seriously, I'd be very surprised if we knew by tomorrow night.

Where is Bin Ladin? Don't hear anything about him at all anymore. Bush did mention him today. Heard it on the radio. Bush said that Bin Ladin wants the American people to vote for the democrats. I just wondered.... If Bush knows who Bin Ladin wants us to vote for, how come Bush doesn't know where Bin Ladin is???

Guess Bush has bigger fish to fry.... In OIL

Am going to vote on the way to work tomorrow. Not too worried if we don't win however. I figure if we don't get em in 06, we'll get em in 08. Might even be better that way. No one else to blame for the never ending mess we are in. If the democrats win even one branch, team Bush will figure out a way to blame everything on our side.

So I still figure either way is a win-win situation for the democrats.

As far as "rooting out terrorism"

There has always been and will always be the possibility that something devastating will happen at any potential time, either here or abroad.

Wether it is a catastophic hurricane, a kid bringing a gun to school and killing a dozen class mates, or someone setting off a bomb somewhere. That is reality. It ain't pretty and we need to do everything to discourage the kind of hatred and misunderstanding that produces "explosive" situations.

But it will happen, maybe not next week, maybe not next year, but it will happen!

One is lying to themselves if they think some magic policy is going to 'make everything better'. That is delusional thinking.
and lets face it, in America, especially in the past, our society encourages that. And it doesn't matter at what wrung of the socio-economic ladder you are on in America, there is a delusion 'Just for you'.

repubs have tried to imply that They have that magic wand to 'make everything better'. lol. right.
I would like to hear public figure simply stand up and just say the truth. Ah, but, how much money has been made by encouraging fear and saying BOOO! No sale, dick cheney.

Our resources can be much better spent enducating people on how to get along and be respectful. It may not be as much fun? but it would allow for a much happier and stable America.

I look at the Iraq situation this way: We won the war, but we lost the occupation.

And it just stands to reason - I may have problems with this administration, but if some country chose to invade us, I would be out there with my can of gasoline and my baseball bat, fighting whoever it was that decided to invade us, side by side with my Republican neighbor. Just like the Iraqis are doing.

That's what we are in Iraq: the occupier. the only thing we can do that will lead to peace is for us to leave.

IMO, the thing that wrecked Iraq was the war profiteering, and the lack of a post-war plan. Unlike other wars, Congress didn't do the oversight necessary to assure that the corporations weren't fleecing us and ignoring their duties. The military did their job, but the Congress - and by extension, us - failed miserably. We let them down. That, more than any partisan reason, is why we need change.

rickr-- I'm with you. I'd like to see Dems win both houses of Congress, but if they don't, I'm not going to cry. It will give the rest of the country another 2 years to wake up to their bad policies, both at home and globally.

I'm amazed that the general public gets inflamed by Kerry's botched joke (the actual text read "...and if you don't, you'll wind up getting us into Iraq") but there's no anger at Bush's joke about not finding WMD in Iraq ("Are they here? Nope. None here. Are they over there? Nope. None there.") when that decision wound up costing hundreds of billions of dollars and over 2,800 US troops' lives to date.

Think of how high those numbers will be a year from now. Two years from now.

I can't even begin to process all your condradictions. So I won't even try. But I do think that we're going to have to hand out tin foil hats to the new crop of members here. As sort of a house-warming gift.

Oh, one last thing

I have actually become very fond of you during the course of our discussion and now consider you a friend. So I want to tip you off to something. When you vote today, vote fast and get out of the booth as quickly as possible. If it's a Diebold machine, the Repugs have it rigged. When you hit the straight D button, a microwave is emitted that will sterilize you. If you stand there long enough, it can even cook your internal organs. So, be careful and good luck.

Good!

They gleam beautifully, and they say sunlight is the best disinfectant!

Just remember not to turn your nose up-it blocks the light!

thru today and beyond.

The Super Discussions Forum for topics relating to all laundry detergents and additives, old and new, as well as off topic. conversations such as other vintage appliances and vintage electronics, etc.

why bring it on here?

It's just one of two political threads on the forum, and this is a big deal for some of us over here!

i am sure it is....

It's a big deal for some of us over here considering the close ties our 2 countries have at the moment but personally feel that it shouldn't be on here. Saying that, I m now adding to this thread!!!! Whats a person to do????

Vers, I'm glad you're part of this discussion and it's nice to see some of your own opinions (even though opinions may have a bad rep!)

I believe in getting the facts, unfortunately, getting down the just the facts is nearly impossible in todays overfed media world. I've offered some of these articles to either reinforce the opinions of myself and others, an eloquently written piece sometimes can communicate ideas and concepts much more effectively than a disconnected, unorganized rant or, to broaden the reality of those who present their opinions as fact.

These have been a healthy few threads in a very super-charged time for our country and I think it's good that a group of friends can have a healthy discussion about current affairs even if it is little or very far outside the realm of our hobby interests. You are correct that most people won't change their minds or their votes, if anything it polarizes them further to the extreme sides of their views. Democracy is all about communication and debating the issues, so whether everyone agrees with these threads being on this board or not, we can say we have at least done our part to uphold the ideals of our forefathers!

Regarding Manipulation, etc

I don't think it's Bush's people manipulating oil prices or the stock market in advance of the election. The powers that be in the oil biz and the world of finance favor the Bush agenda so they are likely working this manipulative game without any participation from the Bush team.

When it comes to Bush doing the manipulating, that's where I have to ask the question, does anybody think Ken Lay is really dead and not enjoying life on a tropical island somewhere? I smell a rat . . . er . . . a lame duck president.

robocalling.

I've heard about republicans desperate attempts to discourage voters by calling people early in the morning and claim to be representing a Democratic Representative. Then hang up and call back 5 or 6 times and say the same thing and hang up. This in hopes people will hopefully get angry at that rep and not vote.

Desperate graspy republicans voter fraud.
