Return of the Kenmore Oasis!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

You can hear our pug Newton scratching in the background!

This was the "Sheets" cycle on the Cabrio I had, it filled to the maximum level in the wash and one of the rinses.  Additional rinses were the shower/dribble.    Is this about the level of "Deep Water Wash" in the new Oasis?  Normal cycle filled nowhere near that high just barely visible.

I know of only one Oasis machine, an agitator model from 2006(?).  She calls it her "slOasis" because it's rare to have a cycle take less than an hour, double or more what her Whirlpool DD took for a load.  Other than the tongue-in-cheek joking about the cycle times, she does like the washer and it's held up well.

Greg, in the test loads I got to do in the new Kenmore Oasis, it did achieve that level of submersion but as I understand it, the machine will fill all the way up like it's older agitator counterpart if the load is large enough.

NO LONGER "ELITE"

Funny how the LG badged Kenmore HE TL are badged Kenmore Elite, and this one is just a Kenmore...when it was first introduced, it was badged a Kenmore Elite.........what makes the LG version "Elite" and this one just Kenmore?

Pulsator, is there any chance that Whirlpool will make front load washers again for Sears? I liked that the Kenmore versions had features not found on the Whirlpool models. Whirlpool made front loaders would be made in the USA, which seems to increasingly be a selling point.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like you are going to have an exciting job when you start full time at Whirlpool ! Best of luck to you.

I'll be sure to keep my eyes peeled to see if any Whirlpool sourced FL machines appear with the Kenmore name on them.

I have one of the original Oasis machines from 2008 with agitator in great running condition. It has an automatic water level that can be overridden to 4 other levels. The highest, fills nearly to the top of the basket save an inch or two.

I Believe the default time on the Delicate cycle is 35 minutes, followed by 42 for Normal or Casuals. I love the machine and it cleans good. Great at removing stains.

My only complaint and this was mentioned in consumer reports is that the way the basket holes were stamped is that items could get caught on the holes and string. All of my towels washed in this machine over time would get strings all over them. I don't have the same problem in traditional WP/KM direct drives, belt drives or Maytag Dependable Care machines.
