RevvinKevin's visit to our humble commode! :-)

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

LOL

Brad - Thank you so much!! Yes, my future plans for the house include digging a 50,000 square foot garage underneath to store things. Because it's not hoarding when it's organized. :-)

Eddie - I'll do my best to post the meal thread tonight, it was amazing! Yes, summery pulsation is awesome.

Justin - We missed you! Glad to hear you had a great time, but I intimately understand about the work schedule. She will definitely be here when you want to give her a spin! (Now we're going to have to find a bigger dryer--this machine tests the limits of the '78 Kenmore next to it.)

Greg - LOL! Well, until someone starts producing Sta-Puf again, I guess we're screwed. At least when you dole out the Suavitel, the instructions don't say "one scoop or two, depending on HE or top-loader."

And EEEEEEEEK, I love that TOL machine!!! A Holy Grail 1-18! It's the soft, warm glow of electric sex in the window!

You're right, bright metal boxes with cords are our version of Amish friendship bread. :-)

Stephanie - LOL It's one of my favorite expressions. I picked it up from M*A*S*H. And you're right, there's nothing more charming than a house with only one bathroom. Like I said the other night, the one thing that sold me on this place that I didn't have in any of the others was an exhaust fan. ;-) (Greg? :-) )

Peter - You are so right! This machine is very quiet, I was really surprised. The WC I had chugged like a diesel engine.

Lawrence - Kevin scored hugely with this, it was an eye-popping surprise! :-) And yes, you're absolutely right. It could be the juxtaposition of avocado shorts with harvest gold. Maybe something about interspersing earth-tones? :-)

WOW, what kind of jerk would think some raggity, 41 year old washing machine (in that horrid 70's yellow no less) would make a good gift for anyone, let alone the perfect house warming gift?!?

Oh... I guess that jerk would be me!  LOL

But seriously.......  Nate I'm very happy you were SO surprised and excited when you first lifted the blanket up, just like a kid opening the perfect gift on Christmas morning!  I just wish I'd thought to have my camera at the ready to capture the moment.

I really enjoyed our visit and would have liked to stay longer.   Yes the temps were hovering in the 90's, but it's a lot better than the 115's & 120's you were experiencing a couple months ago when we first talked about me coming to visit.

I know you will enjoy and care for it too!   It's also really good to hear this machine will never be on "death row" and get kicked to the curb when you go through your semi-annual "This has got to go!" collection thinning diet.

You are both such wonderful hosts!   Thank you so much for allowing me to stay in you "guest room" (and I use the term loosely, HA!) with Zoo, the fish & frog and the beautiful variety of flora & fauna!

Kevin

Nate - happy housewarming! Hubby and I recently moved into a new abode and would love to have someone come by with a present like that! I've got a 260sf room I'm turning into my laundry center to house my 'Tags, Kenmores, Wards, Norge, 1/18s and 'Pools. Room needs painting, lighting, plumbing. Hope to post pics this Winter now that rains are coming to California (thankfully) will be working on the inside of the house.

Congrats Nate on your new home and 1/18! Todd

<3

The BEST presents are raggity 41-year-old appliances!! :-D  It's as good as a Hoover under a tree, or having your heart set on a Crosley!

Ralph--slap!!  ;-)

I love the "comfort station" idea, though.  I'll install vending machines and urinals next.

Stephanie-- ;-)  LOL

Todd -- thank you so much!!  I'm so glad to hear you have a fantastic new place yourself, space is a wonderful thing, and it sounds like it has loads of potential!  I heard from Ralph that the rains were there, so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you all!

The living room suite

Thank you for being wonderful and putting up with our living room "guest room suite."  On the bright side, it's a far sight bigger than what they gingerly termed a "guest room" in this house (which is tight even for our computers).

Yes, it's Wild America in there, with an aquarium, cat, and significant foliage.

On the bright side, we think of it as "Convertible."  :-)

Blender ice cream---That thing sounded like a brush hog or hammer mill.

Greg - I love your new avatar. A giant wad of knots. How long did you work on that? It's lovely. LOL!

B.

Blender ice cream-one of the toughest tests for a blender- a high power machine like the Vita Mix or Blendtec are the best ones for this purpose.Becuase the mixture is thick and frozen-puts the max load on the motor-and makes the most noise-but the ice cream made this way is so fresh! And don't be tempted to run the blender longer---if you do the blade friction will HEAT the mixture instead of cooling it.So you will end up with a milkshake or hot drink if you ran it for several min.The max loading of this application is why you can't use a low hp blender for ice cream-if you do--the motor will get the smoke let out of it and won't run again!

The three "F"s

what a nice thread, the machines look lovely, as do you lot enjoying yourselves and of course the pot roast :-)..........beautiful.....all of it.

So you get the Three "F" award for Fun Food & .................

Thanks
Gary

Well shoot, Kevin...

If you didn't want it... Lol!

Enjoy it, Nate. I rescued this one from the crusher literally seconds away from oblivion as a Kia a few years ago. My first Frigidaire set. Shot video of it and had fun then eventually made a trip down to Kevin's and gave them to him as a Wash In warming gift. I'm happy that one of my orphans found a great loving home.

Here's the original thread where I introduced her to the family. The link to the video is in the thread. This one was also the star of a few suds cake pics during that Wash In as well...
