Back in May when I got my own apartment, I needed a couch. I didn't want to buy a new one. My sister's husband wanted to get rid of their old set, so they gave me theirs. Prior to my sister owning it, it belonged to my grandparents, who purchased it new. Anyways I just discovered it's the identical set from the TV show Roseanne. The first picture is from the show. The last two are of mine. I ended up ordering an afghan from eBay.

A ton of people used to have those couches, usually in brown. My couch and chair identical to yours in shape are orange with bright yellow, brown, green, and orange flowers. Bought in the early 70s, Still look brand new.

OK I have to ask

But what do you do to the sofa's to keep them in such great shape?

Before we moved we had dark brown Chesterfield type sofa and it was the comfiest but also the heaviest piece of furniture I have ever lifted. Sadly unable to change its colour so bought 2 new ones which will never last as good as the old set all already showing signs of wear and only 3 years old ....!!

Mine spent a few decades wrapped in clear plastic. Every once in a while i unzip the fabric from the cushions and wash them. I also use a carpet cleaner on the rest of it about once or twice a year to keep it smelling good. I think a big part of it is just how it was made to last. You would have a hard time finding much of anything now that would last you 50 years.

It's not that my set is the same style, but it's identical to include the material.
The set, according to my grandfather was bought new in 1990. They didn't use it often and always had it covered.

One of my neighbors has a sofa similar to those shown. It originally had a floral pattern upholstery in rust, gold, and brown. They had it reupholstered several years ago in solid dark green, which looks much better with their other furniture. I'm pretty certain it was made by Norwalk. What brands are yours, Justin and Jon?
