I see you live in NJ.  What place in NJ lets you keep animals like this?  Is that a goat?   It lets you handle it like this...is it a pet?   Never in my life, did I think I would find a goat interesting.

Hey Tom -good eye! Yes, that's my hometown neighborhood in Michigan and it is, in fact, a Sears catalog home. You will be dismayed to learn that the new owners, after my neighbor's dad passed away, updated the whole house. It HAD potential to be improved, and yet keep the original charm. I did forget the name of the model, but if you saw it in an old Sears catalog, then that's the one. Sears used to be a fantastic company Their old catalogs are a galaxy away in content and so interesting compared the schlock sold today.

Also, kind of co-incidental...the family who lived there had two boys and three girls, all of whom I still keep in touch with, except the one older son who was my age -he died in a freeky canoe accident on the Au Sable river, 34 years ago. He taught me alot about electronics, radio and tv...even if it was rudimentary stuff. His name? Tom.

That house had a double lot, to the right , but now they allowed them to sell the lot and cram a generic house next to the Crescent. You know the expression, "You can't go home again." ? I can't go home and look at that neighborhood. Our old house is up for rent as they couldn't sell it. Lot of good memories - thanks again and hope you don't mind the long-winded reply.

W98/FF2, can no longer see ANYthing unless I turn on j-script AND check 'full size'. Everyone else have to click photos to see them at all? If it's just me, nevermind, I know I'm a technosaur.

@arbilab

I'll fire up my "technological dinosaur" (i.e. My Windows 98 box) and see what effect is produced with FF3.6.3 with Java On/Off, as well as IE6.

May roll back to the old FF, provided I can get the darned thing to connect to my server (apparently the directory I'm trying to open "doesn't exist," when it does and worked before :/ )

I imagine the Java (or JavaSludge for those of us who despise it), or lack thereof in your case would cause the issue, or maybe the older browser.

Will report back in the morning with some suggestion.

Turning j-script on enables many things but not everything. Example, wunderground (weather) just did a "grade" (I wouldn't call it UPgrade as I lost utility) that prevents me from seeing radar periodically updated. It worked last month.

Most sites like billpay/data entry require j-s and many still work but many have denied service to W98 altogether as a 'security risk'. Cowflop! W98 is about as immune to intrusion today as possible. Who the hell writes hacks for W98, one half of one percent of the userbase?

Virus on Windows 98

"This program requires Windows NT5.1 or better in order to run. Please contact your system administrator." LOL

After 16yrs of diligence I got complacent and clicked on a clever email virus ('funeral'). Result? "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down".

Since it was new, all the antivirus in the world wouldn't have caught it. Obviously, because it passed the email client AV. But plain old W98 killed it cold.

For the small minority of users who are having problems uploading pictures using the new Add Photos Here box I've added back the old jpeg photo upload old system until I get all the details ironed out. If you look down below the add photos here box you should see "If the new photo upload box does not work with your browser you can use the original photo system:" and the old button to select one file.

For you guys on really old systems will not be able to see the new photos properly. I don't have any way of supporting these older systems before windows XP. Even my XP computer that I use for testing is on its last legs and wont last much longer. Also Java-script is a requirement to view and upload pictures with the new system.

Found a sort of glitch on the new photo system.

I sometimes save pictorial threads on repair procedures using the browser's File / Save Page As / Web Page Complete function for ease of referring to it later without searching through the archives or managing a bunch of bookmarks.

The new photo system prevents all the pics from saving on multi-pic posts in the thread, only the first picture in the group is saved.

Thank you Glenn, not really a glitch per se, but the way it was designed. The advantage is that the pictures are not downloaded until the reader clicks and calls for the picture. This makes for much faster downloads as you read the page. I just tried the save as html page feature on a facebook page with multiple pictures and it does the exact same thing on facebook, only downloading the first picture.

While not ideal for saving the entire HTML page all at once, it works much better for the average reader.

Pretty sweet!

I started using Fire Fox as my browser about a month ago. My PC is Windows Vista (don't hate on me :) ). I never could get the hang of the new photo upload on IE, but this appears to be working. I think my issue was user error and an older version of IE. A few random shots--shower rebuild, vacation shot and deck shot.

Thanks,
Mitch
