RR-4 help needed

A few questions...

 

1) So the inner door of my RR-4 has come off.  What is the best adhesive to use to reattach?  The glass is popping out as well.  (See first picture)

 

2) Is it ok to use in its current state?

 

3) Does anyone have an extra knob for one of these?  Mine is cracked and missing the silver in the middle. 

 

I may have more questions as I get further into the project.  Thanks!

I fixed a RR4D door with Paul that had the same problem. I don't remember exactly how we did it (I should as it's not that long ago!) but I'm sure Paul does! I remember that the plastic was melted and damaged by a previous repair attempt by the former owner somewhere and I I think I had to melt it and reshape it with a spatula. It didn't look perfect after but the glass was staying in place without using tape and the holes in the plastic frame were filled.

Phil did the hard work on this one by successfully melting and reattaching the broken part of the frame.  He used a small torch to heat the plastic.   We reglued the frame to the door with silicone sealant and this has been holding up well with the heat and steam generated with regular use.  Full disclosure - my RR4D gets used every day I am in the house in St-Lib!! 

 

When I got mine, the metal disc on one of the timer knobs was just loose, so I reglued it with household epoxy.  Perhaps one from another dial (radio or TV tuner maybe...) can be sacrificed for this one.  

 

And there's always Cory (cadman's) website devoted to the Radarange!  If anyone has spare parts, it'll be him.
