1965 LKM Washer
WOW Paul the 1965 LKM washer and dryer was a great example of high well designed style, it was always one of my all time favorite styles from Sears. I hope you get the matching dryer, but at least you got the hard to find machine. And yay another rebuilding project, you and Phil can bring it along on your next trip to Maryland. The 1960s KMs and WPs are much easier to rebuild than the 1956 WP was,but it should be gone completely over to replace seals and arrest any corrosion that is always present in a washer of this age. Your serial # shows that this machine was built in WPs Clyde Ohio plant on the 42nd week of 1965. [ still by far the worlds largest automatic washer factory ]

And I have neve seen "extra slow"as an option -how cool is that? My 3 speed GM F has a "hand wash" option and I use that for hand knit wool sweaters--amazing cycle!!

AMAZING... you hit the Mother Lode! Can't get over those racks, and yes that has to be the earliest Avocado machine ever! I think the decorator mags started with pushing that color a year or so later, 66-67, my folks new house in 68 had an all avocado kitchen... HAVE FUN!

Beautiful machines both. A real pushbutton extravaganza. The dishwasher must have had very very very limited use. I think we all know people who have one but seldom if ever use them, like my mom.

Kenmore design at it's BEST I alway's loved that machine I was going to pick up
one in philly my friend had but did not work out by the time I got my buds together to get it and to break it
down, and THEY MOVED.
Ha my luck at times lol.
It was a mess anyway just at this point wanted parts, Gary is right about the buttons be careful .
ROTO-FLEX AGITATOR is my faverite and one of a kind design.
ROTO-RACK both in Turquiose was ment to be.

For the record, the avocado dishwasher I got here is NOT the same as Robert's 'RotoRack with a View' model - not even close!
My apologies for the confusion...
It is the same as the 220v model though. Getting old does things to one's brain... LOL
Oh, and I made the mistake of telling hubby about the viewing door Robert built - he took off looking for the chainsaw and was SOOOO disappointed when I said no...

To Jon's point: this may have been the first year for the extra slow option.; all the Keyboard's have it. Was lucky enough to experience extra slow for 2 years. Was so much fun warping the speeds up and down from hi to extra slow, and staying there for the not-really-dirty clothes to loll in the gentle bath.
About you looking so good: You must have been beautifying to properly receive these glorious queens. Hyacinth would be so envious.

Dang! Born a year too early
The 63 is not only the last LK without 3 speeds, but also has the last center post that won't accept the Rotoflex or Variflez, Holy Grail Agitators for me. Oh well, sometines ya win, sometimes ya lose, and I can dream about a trade some day, but who likes this one better than the 64 or 65? They are so much more beautiful.

Paul Here is the machine that I tried to rescue a few years back.
I think this is the one for the motor that I could not get after they left.
But as you can see the buttons which Gary talked about they all almost have gone.
In the thread below you can see why you can't or should not hit the button from the tip top.

Paul your NEW LKM DW is at least one model newer than the 240 volt machine that I bought from Kevin. Mine is a 1966 yours should be a 67 or 8 or 9 ? usally the last four numbers on D &M built DWs is the build date.
