So these two dudes from Quebec pick up these two 'ladies' from New Hampshire...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

OH GOD

Two beautiful ladies indeed. I sat with held breath seeing the Turk from behind, wondering what year she would be. Bingo. The Gem. How I'd love to have extra-slow for stuff that I want to keep forever but needs only a freshening. And a ROTOFLEX. I am truly green with healthy envy. Good for you, Paul--good for you!

HI Paul

HI Paul, Great finds! A friend's mother had the same washer only in white in 1965. A word of advice: When you push the plastic buttons, push them at the bottom, where they are fastened on to the plastic that goes into the panel. If you push them at the top, they can break off.
I bought my mom a 1967 Lady Kenmore dishwasher for christmas of that year. The '65 model sure looks a lot like the' 67. The roto rack at the top has 2 positions that you can adjust. Have fun with all of this. Gary

Paul, you are actually glowing in those photos! Congratulations, man. Now, the BIG question--will that Avacado Lady turn a <ahem> DIFFERENT shade in the future? LOL

WOW Paul!

YAY!   CONGRATS!   (fanfare)   Those are AB-SO-LUTE-LY AWESOME!

So now that you've finally found the "holy grail", a Turquoise washer, are you going to end your collecting here?

Oooohhh, purty!

From one Ladie's Man (66 LKM's) to another, that is one stunning washer! Awesome!

Let me ask this next question as tactfully as I can... So, have you looked under her skirt, yet? LOL!

Double Minty

Super Great Finds.

The Washer for some reason has always been one of my favorite models.

And that Dishwasher does look hardly used at all. (Ahem, do I dare ask where Hubby was duting this excursion ???)

Wow, what a beautiful ladies these are! The best dressed and most beautiful that make all the others jealous! Quite the find, and looks like a fun adventure, enjoy!

1965 LKM Washer

WOW Paul the 1965 LKM washer and dryer was a great example of high well designed style, it was always one of my all time favorite styles from Sears. I hope you get the matching dryer, but at least you got the hard to find machine. And yay another rebuilding project, you and Phil can bring it along on your next trip to Maryland. The 1960s KMs and WPs are much easier to rebuild than the 1956 WP was,but it should be gone completely over to replace seals and arrest any corrosion that is always present in a washer of this age. Your serial # shows that this machine was built in WPs Clyde Ohio plant on the 42nd week of 1965. [ still by far the worlds largest automatic washer factory ]

I am impressed

and yet you were only 45 minutes away in Manchester tch tch!!

Wow I love those indicator jewels on that DW! Now thats style!

Yes you are glowing in those pictures!! Good on ya!

And I have neve seen "extra slow"as an option -how cool is that? My 3 speed GM F has a "hand wash" option and I use that for hand knit wool sweaters--amazing cycle!!

Nice haul Paul!

Truly truly

AMAZING... you hit the Mother Lode! Can't get over those racks, and yes that has to be the earliest Avocado machine ever! I think the decorator mags started with pushing that color a year or so later, 66-67, my folks new house in 68 had an all avocado kitchen... HAVE FUN!

Beautiful machines both. A real pushbutton extravaganza. The dishwasher must have had very very very limited use. I think we all know people who have one but seldom if ever use them, like my mom.

btw you look good in your haulin duds.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !

What a great score, loving the dishwasher now you can exchange the GE mobil made

Chris would like that it's quieter lol.

Kenmore design at it's BEST I alway's loved that machine I was going to pick up

one in philly my friend had but did not work out by the time I got my buds together to get it and to break it

down, and THEY MOVED.

Ha my luck at times lol.

It was a mess anyway just at this point wanted parts, Gary is right about the buttons be careful .

ROTO-FLEX AGITATOR is my faverite and one of a kind design.

ROTO-RACK both in Turquiose was ment to be.

So happy for you with the washer !

Paul enjoy them both, can't wait to see where you put the washer !

OOPS!

For the record, the avocado dishwasher I got here is NOT the same as Robert's 'RotoRack with a View' model - not even close!

My apologies for the confusion...

It is the same as the 220v model though.  Getting old does things to one's brain... LOL

Oh, and I made the mistake of telling hubby about the viewing door Robert built - he took off looking for the chainsaw and was SOOOO disappointed when I said no...

Back for more!

Reply 26~ STUNNING! --The close-up of the telephone book tabs. Agree with Gary's point about how delicate and fine they look. Imagine if the double tab for Spin Only had the last one for Suds instead. I'd need oxygen.

To Jon's point: this may have been the first year for the extra slow option.; all the Keyboard's have it. Was lucky enough to experience extra slow for 2 years. Was so much fun warping the speeds up and down from hi to extra slow, and staying there for the not-really-dirty clothes to loll in the gentle bath.

About you looking so good: You must have been beautifying to properly receive these glorious queens. Hyacinth would be so envious.

Mickey -

Actually the '64 Lady K was the first year of the three speed machine, and the first year of the 900 series. Previous Ladies (1963 and before) had been two speed 800s, and that is one of the things that distinguished most 800s from initial 900 models in later years.

Its remarkable how few of the '64 model we see, and so many of the '65. Sears made a huge deal about the '65 Lady K in ads and in their catalogs, as they debuted the Roto-Flex agitator.

Paul -

That is one AWESOME looking washer!!! Congratulations, I hope it works out great. It looks to be in remarkable condition. The dishwasher looks almost unused. Fantastic, I wish you the very best of luck with both machines!

Drew I saw your post and was late on it sorry what beautiful machines !

Like to know what the Heavy Cycle does ?

Here is my 1968 model.

With step down agitation, and a Roto-Flex Agi.

Dang! Born a year too early

The 63 is not only the last LK without 3 speeds, but also has the last center post that won't accept the Rotoflex or Variflez, Holy Grail Agitators for me. Oh well, sometines ya win, sometimes ya lose, and I can dream about a trade some day, but who likes this one better than the 64 or 65? They are so much more beautiful.

Mike has been asking for weeks to see Roto-Flexing here it is.
Paul what do you think ?

Paul Here is the machine that I tried to rescue a few years back.

I think this is the one for the motor that I could not get after they left.

But as you can see the buttons which Gary talked about they all almost have gone.

In the thread below you can see why you can't or should not hit the button from the tip top.

Thanks just excited you got that washer and in your color.
