hello to all aw members,

sometime i wonder if my mom knows what the right cycle even if dishe are rinse i think that sometime more wash time on the dishwasher is more efficent like take the ge profile my mom and i purchuse i think sometime 1 hour 23 minuite would be perfect sometimne even if dishes are rinse before being but in the dishwasher a 2 hour cycle give a better cleaning performance than using the light cycle because i do not think 1 hour 13 minutes (light cycle is engough to fully clean the dishes to me the light cycle is more like a quick rinse. I will not argue with my mom but the day my mom notice how poorly clean the dishes are she will realise that a 2 hour cycle is mopre efficent than the light cycle well me i am not blind i clearly know when needed thats its best to use normal and when needed heavy or the auto sense cycle if dishes need extra cleaning time.

On my GE,

I use the anti-bacterial (sanitize) cycle most with added heat and air dry.
We do rinse our dishes, mostly. Good results.
The cycle takes between 85 and 92 minutes, depending upon the hot water temp from the water heater. The temp delay is 150 f.
The normal cycle takes longer with the added heat. I keep the water heater set at about 140 f. It makes no sense for us to heat water we don't need all day.

I have this exact same GE Profile platform.
The reason many of the cycles are 2+ hours now, are in order to save water.
These new machines use so little water, they must wash each rack solely, while alternating up and down every few minutes. That takes longer to do.
The jets are also stronger, yet much smaller, so there's less volume of water spraying around, which also requires longer time to let things soak and get flushed off.
Light wash is 49 minutes without Heated Dry.
Normal is 75 minutes and can be adjusted all the way up to almost 3 hours depending on what temp boost, bottle jets, heat dry and sani rinses are added.

If you're putting well rinsed dishes in, you can get away with just using the Light cycle on these machines. But if your dishes have regular use soils, I'd highly recommend the Normal cycle. Maybe add sani rinse if you have raw meat items in there.
These machines are highly customizable, and if you run them before bedtime, the 2-4 hour cycle times don't really matter.

thank you for the info i have it on light cycle heated dry total wash time 1:13 minute with bottle jet on 1:36 minute when needed
