Speed Queen 2017 Dryer Exhaust Temps for ADGE9RGS

What are the dryer temps you're seeing for the Speed Queen gas dryers on Low, Medium, and High? I measured about 130 on low, 140 on medium, and 150 on high at the dryer exhaust vent. I have an ADGE9RGS11TW01 but would think most SQ dryers would have similar exhaust temps.

Trying to figure out what the max temp will be in the exhaust vent collar/ duct and exterior exhaust vent. Figuring about 150 to 160 degrees max temp on high. Replacing the dryer duct through a stucco wall and looking at the service temps for building/ tar paper that will be used for the stucco patch around the install.

Dryer Exhaust Temps

Can easily reach 200F on any good 240 volt or gas dryer and any exhaust system needs you install needs to be able to easily work at these temperatures. I would check your local building codes about how and what to install. At these temperatures dryer exhaust runs are usually considered zero clearance systems so the metal ducting can be safely in contact with flammable building materials.

 

You should not be worried about what temperatures this SQ dryer operates at, but rather the correct way to construct and install a dryer exhaust system in your home, there is nothing unusual about a SQ dryer.

I was about to ask, since when did Speed Queen have a modulating heat source?....

a great majority of dryers don't....unless you have two heating elements for an electric...just as a gas dryer doesn't adjust the flame like a stove top

most dryers heat up to 180 - 200 degrees for all temps selected....and then cuts off

lower temps are achieved from when the heat source turns back on, not when it shuts off....

as LOW may turn the heat on at 120, and raise upwards to 180 before turning off....HIGH usually turns back on once the temp drops 20 degrees

ironic how some people wash in COLD water to preserve colors and reduce shrinkage....yet will toss this exact load into a 180 degree dryer, way hotter than most water heaters....
